Over the years I've done so much with mirrors, screen printed, acid etched, sand blasted. I even used to make my own from clear glass and silvered them myself after printing a design on them in the days of the old 'Pub Mirrors'
Do you think I'd have a better chance of selling it with the hound etched into it?
Thanks, that was the small one, about 4ft x 3ft. I've almost finished a bigger and, I think better one later today, about 5ft x 4ft. I should finish it tomorrow and if I find the time I'll take a pic of it, with the hound of course.
Perhaps people can read it in it's entirety and make their own minds up. It's interesting to read that The Sun and The Sunday Times apologised and payed out substantial amounts to Yusuf after suing them for libel. He also received substantial damages from World Entertainment News Network for further slanderous remarks.
I suspect he still makes an easy target for the Islamophobes.
Excellent Ginger...carving is supposed to be very therapeutic, do you still carve?
A friend on mine used to earn a living carving, he was extremely good at it. I remember once when I visited him, he had a life size statue of Jean Alexander (Hilda Ogden off Coronation Street) in his living room. Unerringly realistic, right down to the mop and bucket, he tried to exhibit the statue but ended up being sued by Granada Studios.
Just finished making a mirror I've been trying to get done for ages. Finding the right wood was the tricky bit, but this piece of English oak was just what I was looking for.
Do you like to create and make things...why not post a pic of your handywork.

You really ned to get your facts right. But aside from that, how much of your time and money goes to helping people less fortunate than yourself?
Estimating in January 2007 that he continues to earn approximately $1.5 million USD a year from his Cat Stevens music, he decided to use his accumulated wealth and ongoing earnings from his music career on philanthropic and educational causes in the Muslim community of London and elsewhere. In 1981, he founded the Islamia Primary School in Salusbury Road in the north London area of Kilburn and, soon after, founded several Muslim secondary schools; in 1992, Yusuf set up The Association of Muslim Schools (AMS-UK), a charity that brought together all the Muslim schools in the UK, and served as chairman.[citation needed] He is also the founder and chairman of the Small Kindness charity, which initially assisted famine victims in Africa and now supports thousands of orphans and families in the Balkans, Indonesia, and Iraq. He served as chairman of the charity Muslim Aid from 1985 to 1993.
I read recently that even Friends of the Earth, one of the main opponents of nuclear power have changed their stance and are now accepting it's probably the way forward.
We really are between a rock and a hard place on this one.
Are you creative...do you like to make things?
