simple enough to pass a diesel car if it failed on emissions just throw a bit of kerosene into it the day of the retest and it'll pass no problem then go back to diesel once you get the cert..kerosene burns cleaner than diesel...cheaper than paying a few grand to fix it properly unfortunately that won't work with a petrol
A DOE is 80 euro..and they've become very strict altogether..They'll fail you over a few minor warning lights these days..mines due a test this month..has airbag light on continuously...its a fault on the renault kangoo..problem with the wire loom underneath the drivers seat..if I give it a wiggle the light goes off..thats how sensitive modern cars are..the more modern the car the more electrical problems it will throw up and my ignition coil light is on permanently..some problem with the EGR valve..even though I've cleaned it myself and the ports surrounding it..its still throwing up a warning light..also when the car idles @1000rpm instead of 600..my mechanic is dumbfounded..been to 5 garages with it and it can't be sorted..oh well looks like I'll be driving with no DOE and consequently no Tax either
Its a great little place..I like nothing more than to take a drive through gods country..I love slieve gullion and its environs..The soil is as Irish as a leprechaun
