Your sense of scale regarding what is wrong is somewhat out of balance. While I don't condone the act of the US soldiers, do you have any idea of the history of the atrocities commited by the Taliban in the Helman Province? Do you have any notion of what the people of Afghanistan have suffered since the civil war that led to the Soviet invasion? Do you realise that the Taliban faced resistance from other internal groups throughtout their regime, therefore, the nation has existed in a constant state of civil war for over 30 years? Have you seen footage of the mass executions of women in soccer fields? Have you seen the lists of the massacres attributed to the Taliban? Tell me now who, or what is wrong?
It is so easy to sit behind a PC in relative comfort and safety while moralising.
Indeed, his statement was quite a stretch of the imagination. Winning WWII was a combined and concerted effort of all the Allies. No single nation 'won' the war without the support and aid of all the other allies, despite anybody's nationalistic beliefs.
I have read through the thread and I'm not convinced by your explanation. It's possible, and others have claimed the same for years, but it's never held water before. This isn't the 1st time these two have taken this stance. Actually, unlike your experience, it's all I've come to expect from them.
RE: Taliban Systematicly Use Torture and Children as Tools of War
You never get anything other than mindless rants and ad hominem from the Onager-but it's entertaining at least. Perhaps Comte was right.
