RE: We're geeks and we don't care what others think!

Ok, so I am not a trekkie in the sense that I know the schematics of the ships or dress up in the outfits. (Exception to the rule, Ferengi, of course.) But I do like all the shows and the movies. The only series I didn't get into was the last one , Enterprise...and I went to school in the 7th grade with one of the stars! (Conner Trineer) I am SURE I have watched all the other series at least once.

And then I dated a guy and we tried to have a Star Trek Marathon, but we couldn't watch all the movies in one sitting. It would be fun to watch one a night or one once a week, though. The last movie was great, too. I like that they are getting new blood in there to keep it going.

And I also am subscribed to George Takai on Facebook...

I think I am definitely a fan!!

RE: Your favourite pet is a

I have a rabbit, myself. They actually make great apartment pets. They are quiet, affectionate, and don't commit hari kari by jumping off the 4th floor balcony. (RIP my little kitty friend.)

RE: What does it say about people would don't reply .........??

Now I've got myself another scammer and a guy I am not at all interested in mailing me...I am going back to my old, rude ways of not responding. (And it hasn't been 24 hours yet!)

If I married all these guys I could open my own petting zoo.

RE: What does it say about people would don't reply .........??

Um...thanks for guilting me into this, guys!! Here is what happened when I tried being nice:

"Am happy you are having a happy nd fun life.for me right now,I have not even thought of xmas shopping or concert,I lost my dad few weeks ago,he was an oil and rig engineer in benin republic,he died in benin repubic.got tru with the funeral, but right now am having issues with his lawyer,am suppose to take over my late dad's properties but in his testament of will,he made a clause, which is I have to be married before I can get his properties.the pressure now is on me,because I have to get his liquid properties out of benin republic in time because of excessive tax over there and the lawyer insist we have to get on with the will,by me getting a spouse first.am so confused and I don't want to look disperate for a wife.and I understand the fact that the lawyer cant go against the testament of will, because am a lawyer also.can we chat? Send me your personal email."

RE: Would you Date and initiate a relation with some one in a different country?

Absolutely! One of the great things about where I am in my life is I can go anywhere in the world. Part of the thrill is learning a new culture. Hell ya! Bring it!

RE: True love never really dies.

I will love forever my first love...

RE: What does it say about people would don't reply .........??

Ok, so I feel like a jerk. I have been ignoring the ones that are widowed, bad grammar, and are military and make over 100,000 a year. I guess I HAVE to start responding...! But the scammers are so BORING.

RE: So who are you not buying a Christmas gift for this year?

No kids...and they are nice people, but I think it is time to cut the ties.

RE: So who are you not buying a Christmas gift for this year?

This is not a gift...but I am kinda feeling guilty...but I took the ex-in-laws off of my Christmas card list this year. Feels so weird.

RE: WHY DO NOBODY WANTS TO BE WITH ANYBODY HERE AND WHAT WITH ALL THESE "WANTS NO KIDS RAVE"?

I am a "No-Kids" person. (Am a granny already!) It was very awkward when I went on a date with someone I met on this site, and he told me how important it was for him to have children. He told me I am still young enough and tried to lay down an argument for me to change my mind.

I find it very interesting that my problem is the same as yours, only in reverse.

RE: The New World Order

Rather than hating "Americans", I have noticed that people seem to hate the American arrogant attitude that comes from the political structure. At least it seems to me...

RE: Can anybody answer this?

Sometimes it is hard to see the forest for the trees...Encourage your friend to stay strong and seek help. Even if he is gone for now, she needs a lot of support. Good luck!

RE: Two Words Keep One Same Round 8

Deny everything!

RE: Have you ever .........?

Ummm, I did do this once. When in college some friends of mine got married and I did this when they were on their honeymoon. I also mixed up their cd collection by putting the disks into the wrong cases. I hid their kitchen utensils all over the house and in very weird places. Lastly, I rolled newspaper into balls and filled up their bedroom as high as I could and still shut the door.

They came back from their honeymoon and their living room and kitchen looked ok. They found the other bits later. But when they opened the bedroom door all this wadded up newspaper fell out, then they had to move all of it to get to their bed. They never noticed the cling wrap and it worked beautifully.

Those friends never found out it was me, which I can't understand considering the HUGE grin on my face when they had to come to my house to borrow my cheese grater...

RE: SUGGESTION

Why, thank you, Phoenix! I don't know what I would do without your sage advice.

You see your niece in a karaoke club, she is 2 years under the legal age limit. You...

Thanks everyone!

I called my ex and told him the results of the poll. He says what he is gonna do is talk to her privately. He is going to do all the "if you are in trouble you can come to me" bits, and then he says he is going to tell her if he sees her again in a club, he will give her ten minutes to leave.

Your opinions and comments have been invaluable! Thanks!

RE: I just quit POF Plenty of Fish

The scammers that talk to women say they are widowed. I think to make us feel sorry for them?

RE: what you reading?

Eat Pray Love

RE: SUGGESTION

Ah. Thanks!

No, he was just out and ran into her.

RE: SUGGESTION

I don't understand what you are trying to say???

RE: Would you date someone who is homeless

I don't think anyone is saying that homeless people can't be nice. And I don't think it is fair to insinuate that people who date them are not nice. I also acknowledge that Phoenix is the Veteran around here and I respect that you have more online dating experience.

As a single mom, time was precious to me. There are a LOT of guys out there for dating. I used the job rule as a way to eliminate a bunch from the dating pool. The homeless thing never came up.

I know that not all people in prison are guilty, but I still think we need some kind of system to protect society. I am sure there are lovely, sane, financially stable homeless people out there. But statistics show these are not the norm.

I also never dated men who had children. As I had a child of my own and didn't want the complication that came with...including taking attention away from raising my own daughter. I don't think that all men with children are bad people, just in a different place in life than I needed. Now that my daughter is raised and on her own, I have started dating men with children.

We all have our own criteria for a mate. As life changes our criteria changes. I can't imagine anytime soon when I would be willing to date a homeless person, but I suppose it could happen. But for now, I am not interested.

I respect that Phoenix had some bad life experiences but was able to continue dating. If I dated someone and they then became homeless, that is a different kettle of fish. If I loved someone I would stick by them. I would invite them into my home, and then they wouldn't be considered homeless, would they?

I respect Tulefel's thoughts. She has way of expressing complicated ideas. Or at least I seem to understand what she is saying!

RE: Would you date someone who is homeless

I agree with Tulefel.

One of the things I look for in a guy is that he can take care of himself financially. If I can take care of myself and he can take care of himself before the relationship, then chances are good we can make it financially after. I don't need rich, but head above water. I also wouldn't date someone who didn't have a job. Which to my friends here in Finland sounds heartless, but Americans don't get the same social package Finns do...

RE: What color are you?

you are aqua
#00FFFF

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well.

Your saturation level is very high - you are all about getting things done. The world may think you work too hard but you have a lot to show for it, and it keeps you going. You shouldn't be afraid to lead people, because if you're doing it, it'll be done right.

Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation.

RE: which european country has the best health care system

I have lived in Finland for three years and have had unexpected medical problems during that time. I had knee surgery and was charged absolutely nothing. I think I have paid less than 40€ for some tests since I have been here.

Since I am originally from the USA and had no health insurance for a period in my life, I am impressed and quite satisfied with the Finnish system.

RE: Red Flags

These really happened:

Clothes actually worn by Elton John, FRAMED, and hanging in the bedroom.

Guy left a message on my voicemail intended for another woman.

Throws temper tantrums in public.
