I'm even not against religion, with exceptions. Someone writed in this poll about human sacrifices and another unacceptable ceremonies. Of course I think Christianism doesn't accept that but in the name of Christ some other crimes were commited, and not only since XX century but more than a milennium before.
Incquisitors thought that put a person in a fire was a compassive action, because that person's soul will be saved from Hell when they feeled what was waiting for them. Bishops and Priests bless all the soldiers of all the armies when going to the battle. Sikhs and Hindi doesn't worry about killing themselves or others because re-incarnation cycle can give them a new chance. And muslim think that Paradise is waiting for them if they die killing Islam's ennemies.
And even when I say that I think religion isn't bad: is the cause of a common morality of people that thinks is good to respect others as you want they respect you, to not steal, to respect parents, and not to kill. I don't know where you ancestors were during Middle Age and before XX century, but in Spain (my country)existed only Christian prosecutions against Jews and Muslim. Of course there were exceptions, but I'm not sure if were polithical or religious because during the Arab domination the christian and jews were mostly respected because Islam recognized them as believers.
When the christian victory arabs and jews were forced to leave Spain, and the rest lived under Incquisition 300 years more.
And not any doubt about what I said after the Middle Age in all Europe: centuries of religion wars.
I just said that Crusades and War Religions are mostly declared by Christians than religious violence caused by Muslim and of couse by Jewish until XX century. In the countries governed by Muslim lived during centuries hindi, christians and jews with not more problemas that the rest. How many muslims lived in christian countries?
