RE: There Are Those Who Think Stonehenge Was A Graveyard Around 3,000 B.C.

A stupid monolith? I'm more fascinated by unknown ages than by history.

We have greek ancient art in Spain, dug up in former colonies in our territory. Hope you do not demand it back too.

RE: There Are Those Who Think Stonehenge Was A Graveyard Around 3,000 B.C.

Chris, I think a greek group could drive a big truck with a crane to stonehenge and take out one or two monoliths in a night. It seems that is only protected by wires.
After that, greeks could demand a ransom in exchange for the Elgin Marbles.grin

RE: There Are Those Who Think Stonehenge Was A Graveyard Around 3,000 B.C.

I know it has nothing to do with Stonehenge, but I've seen other very old monuments which required large stone haulage work.

In Peru I saw gigantic walls whose stones fit each other perfectly, and were smoothed by dragging over other stones. Incas didn't use wheels.
