Taliban of course, if those idiots hadn't been driving Afghan back into the stone age with there lunatic activities, bush probably wouldn't have attacked them.
I believe that most because 9/11 was carried out by Saudi Arabians and Egyptians, also Bin Laden stated he didn't plan those attacks, Bush clearly had business dealing with Laden's family, and Laden was much more involved in Yemen than anything else.
There is still no creditable evidence that he was killed in the alleged raid in the Pakistan compound either. In that matter the remaining Black Hawk that was apparently able to carry 24 people including its crew of four the remaining only remaining helicopter, would have had to have carried out 32 or 34 + one dog, and have then bothered to carry off a dead peace of meat just so they could dump Bin Laden's body in the ocean.
Anyway just before Bush's air force unit was to be deployed in Vietnam during the Vietnam war, Bush went off to Mexico until his daddy fetched him back, that person put the commander in chief shirt on and attacked Afghanistan, however the Taliban from Pakistan brought the war upon the Afghan people

I would think Bin laden, the Afghan Taliban and the Northern Alliance. Bin Laden got too big for its breaches and the Taliban didn't have all of the nation's approval in keeping the country in the stone age. The Taliban were proud to have Bin Laden in their cause, but they didn't have the common sense to throw him out after 9/11.
As to the body of Bin laden, it was imperative to take him away as he would have been revered as a martyr if buried in the region by its delusional followers and serve as propaganda.
Many people died in 9/11, including Muslims. So, saying that they fought because of the murder of innocent Muslims was a lie.
Bin Laden and the Taliban wanted to exert power and control using religion by interpreting the Holy Book.
May Bin Laden find his proper place, Hell or Paradise, it is not up to us now. Speaking in the name of God will not automatically give him a place in Paradise for sure.

The Northern Alliance was leaded by anti-soviet resistants and fought the taliban too, sometimes with western support.

I think you could blame the Taliban if the US invaded to help the Afghan people. But they didn't. You could also blame the Taliban if the US went to war with every repressive disgusting regieme in the world. But it doesn't!
The war in Afghanistan has nothing to do with the Taliban at all. They were an excuse. The mineral reserves the country has and its strategic location to bring gas from east to west is the only reason for the invasion.
On February 12, 1998, John J. Maresca, vice president, international relations for UNOCAL oil company, testified before the US House of Representatives, Committee on International Relations. Maresca provided information to Congress on Central Asia oil and gas reserves and how they might shape US foreign policy. UNOCAL's problem? As Maresca said: "How to get the region's vast energy resources to the markets." The oil reserves are in areas north of Afghanistan, Turkmenistan, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan and Russia. Routes for a pipeline were proposed that would transport oil on a 42-inch pipe southward thru Afghanistan for 1040 miles to the Pakistan coast. Such a pipeline would cost about $2.5 billion and carry about 1 million barrels of oil per day.
Maresca told Congress then that: "It's not going to be built until there is a single Afghan government. That's the simple answer."
