His second name was christ idiot's which signals that he was the messiah and the son of god.
Actually Messiah and Christ were and are purely a designation! No need to call people Idiots when you are obviously the one not understanding the terms!
In those days it was mainly your first name then the son off (father) and place of birth. Jesus was often refer to “Jesus from Nazareth”, because Joseph was not his father by blood.

At least an interesting opinion, but I readed sometimes Yehuda Ben Yosef like his true name. I don't know if existed a rule or a religious Law for the second names, as we use to say today.
I'm not sure surnames in the modern sense existed back then
Most likely they'd have been know by their fathers name... "on of..." or by their trade... carpenter, tailor, hunter, baker,... all still common surnames (in translation).
Names like McCarthy, McLoughlin etc. are literally translated as "son of Carthy" and "son of Loughlin"... and O'Donnell, O'Brien etc are "Of Donnell" and "Of Brien", again son/daughter of...
So... he could have been 'Jesus son of Joseph' or 'Jesus the carpenter', or to some 'Jesus son of god'

Appears to be correct...
Got this from wiki answers dot com...
Jesus Christ has many names, but none are considered middle names. Officially, Jesus has no middle name as that wasn't a tradition in ancient Hebrew culture. Also, Christ is not Jesus's last name. Christ comes from cross. He died for us on the cross. Hence, Christ, Jesus Christ. No middle name, no last name really. Just our Savior, for the believers and non-believers.

Yes, of course, Ben Yoseph means exactly "son of Joseph".
the profession is another possibiliy, but he didn't work as a carpenter. Perhaps was called carpenter in his childhood.
Albertaghost: Matthew 13:55 - "Is not this the carpenter's son? is not his mother called Mary?"
Obviously he then became a mechanical engineer as nobody would learn and ply the same trade as their father in that day.
I even heard he worked as a carpenter.
Yes, of course he's called sometimes "Jesus The Son of Mary" but there is not a second name, only the father name was used, like in your country. Is Spain we have second and third because we include the mother name.
The Quran uses this expression many times as a way of saying that was not the son of God but just a man, even for them he was an important prophet:
"Some of these apostles have We endowed more highly than others: among them were such as were spoken to by God, and some He has raised yet higher. And We vouchsafed unto Jesus, the son of Mary, all evidence of the truth, and strengthened him with holy inspiration. And if God had so willed, they who succeeded those would not have contended with one another after all evidence of the truth had come to them; but they did take to divergent views, and some of them attained to faith, while some of them came to deny the truth."
