No there is nothing funny about it at all, you have conned yourself into the delusion that you have super powers which is an extremely dangerous delusion , many people have died because they went to people that claimed to be healers instead of doctors , at least with the charlatans a lot of them tend to know their limits
Here is the thing if you where a healer and could prove it you would be the first in history and would gain world wide recognition

In all fair ness some people can have what for want of a better word can be described as "spiritual experiences" however these can be shown to have happened threw out history with every religion and it can be explained threw psychology , there is also this to consider , the human mind is extremely susceptible to hallucinations
No one is denying that science can be proven wrong , in fact it’s what true scientists live for because when they are proven wrong science advances and we get closer to the truth , that is what sceince is about finding the truth

Mike I have to say that if it is true (and I trust you enough to believe it is) I am genuinely impressed , I doubt you will come away from reading it as an atheist , but if you read it objectively with an open mind it should be interesting for you to hear the other side of the argument , Id still recommend Letter To A Christian Nation by Sam Harris , It’s short and written in the format of a letter ,
By the way thinking about it I cant remember the name but there are a few websites out there that are basically book swapping sites (a few seconds on google should bring them up) all you do is pay the p+p (normally only on the books you send) it’s a great way to keep the cost of reading down

That was my point there is no such thing as hypnosis because all hypnosis is self hypnosis , there is an old saying in hypnosis “if some on comes to you believing that in order to help them you must hit them in the face with a dead fish then pour cold custard on there head , you had better have a bowl of custard on the table and a fish in your desk drawer" when it comes to the things that can be "healed" it all boils down to psychology
First off I did not read threw the whole thread so forgive me if I am repeating what some one else has said ,
Lets get the TV evangelists out of the way first , they are complete scum that pray on the weak and desperate, people like beni hinn use blatant group hypnosis , and the ones that look into the tv and say stuff like some one is getting healed are doing what is called fishing if you have enough people watching you are going to get a few people that are desperate enough to believe that they have been healed ,
Now as for other healer’s (not the charlatans but the ones that genuinely feel they are healing) it works on the same process as hypnosis if some one believes enough that something can cure/heal them then it is possible to cure or alleviates certain ailments but it will in no way cure some one of a serious disease like cancer or HIV, there are some cases of spontaneous recovery however these are no more common then they are in hospitals
I have to second that , if every one was like your relative no one would ever go out on a date for fear of being rejected , what’s more the lady embellished when describing herself to you which says to me that she is some what insecure you did a good thing by spending a little more time with her
