If some one has said what you want to already and done so eloquently why try to rewrite it?? As for quoting famous people , I quote other’s as well (although far fewer survive the sands of time and those that do a usually refereed to as anonymous) it is just common courtesy to name the original author
With or without religion, you would have good people doing good things and evil people doing evil things. But for good people to do evil things, that takes religion. - Steven Weinberg
“There are no atheists in foxholes” isn’t an argument against atheism, it’s an argument against foxholes. - James Morrow
I have never seen the slightest scientific proof of the religious ideas of heaven and hell, of future life for individuals, or of a personal God. So far as religion of the day is concerned, it is a damned fake… Religion is all bunk. - Thomas Edison
And if there were a God, I think it very unlikely that He would have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence. - Bertrand Russell
The problem is that you have to make up for the damage GW did by giving the tax breaks before you will see any benefits , here is the bit I don’t get , why do the tax your wages and then tax the products that you buy with what’s left of your wages surly they can just tax the hell out of you wages and leave what you spend it on alone so at least you know exactly how much you are paying the gov
Sorry jlw45 But it is fact, after extensive peer review it is excepted as such by the real scientists (as apposed to the creationist ones who enjoy ignoring facts and making things up to suite their agenda, whilst rarely holding any valid credentials that would qualify them as scientists)
Does the fact that creationists statistically have lower IQ’s then evolutionists not give you at least some doubt as to the power of their argument ??
And what evidence do you have for this creator you speak of ??
What ever about our track record at least we have one your fictional character does not
For the purpose of discourse on the subject these are one and the same as this
Yes they can it serves to further the species as we evolved it served to protect the individual , there are certain aspects of “morality that are hardwired into our brains” some of theses are also hardwired into the brains of other primates
Other primates exhibit both love and hatred
And who created the creator ??? You end up back at the old infinite regress ,
you are still left to explain the origin of the creator If that truly is your belief then what makes you able to comment on the subject ???
Simply we do not have evidence to say that it does exist , and what evidence we do have would strongly indicate that it does not.
The problem is that what you are essentially talking about is a deity or at the very least has to answer the same questions as a deity “no evidence to suggest it does exist and plenty to suggest that it almost certainly does not”
Well if your just acknowledging your insignificance in the relation to the universe and admiring the wonders of said universe, You are left with what is in fact Einstein-e-an (im not sure how that is meant to be spelt) Religion , which observes no super natural power , it merely acknowledges the natural world in all it’s splendour (no worship)
That depends are you calling it a higher power as in a deity / something with a level of consciousness/intelligence , or just acknowledging your insignificance in the relation to the universe ??
I just got threw exercise to music lesson 3 on the course I am doing , and I have to say while I am completely uncoordinated and have absolutely no rhythm I am really enjoyed it
