I think you might like Calgary. I've always enjoyed visiting and did live there for a while 10 years ago. It has around one million people and is fairly large as far as overall size compared to a typical European city of the same population. There a number of things to see depending on what your tastes are. Electric Ave downtown if you like the bar/club scene or the Glenbow museum, Heritage Park Historical Villiage and Fort Calgary for a bit of history. There's also Calaway Park and the Calgary Zoo that are interesting to visit. A trip to the Rocky Mountains is a must, seeing as how they're only an hours drive away. Banff National Park is beautiful and no shortage of breath taking sights to see. Small towns are all around the city and worth taking a look at if you have the time. Drumheller is a short drive and has dinosaur exhibits at the Tyrell museum which are pretty cool. The people are friendly and the air and water are clean. There's a large diversity of nationalities and cultures providing an endless amount of decent restaraunts and activities during the summer months. Unfortunately showing up in August you'll miss the Calgary Stampede which is quite a spectacle all on it's own. I'm sure you will have a great time visiting and wish you the best of luck!
If someone does or says something contradictory to their nature for a moment and might possibly do it again, would that make them a hypocrite? ie: Laughing at a derogatory joke when it's against what they actually believe.
That's hard to do when there's a guardrail coming at you at 80+ kmh! OHHH S**T!! You just know it's going to hurt! Funny, I never get hurt on a dirtbike, just street bikes. I consider myself to be more of a motorcycle enthusiast than a biker!
I don't see it but the Ivory Club singles get together is an Edmonton get together. It's a restaraunt here. Check the Canadian forums and you'll see it posted there.
Sad that I never remember to buy beer to have at home. Then when I want one, there isn't any. This evening there was one single lonely little beer all by itself in the fridge. So I drank it!!
RE: nice pub on the beach
I'll be there at least in spirit then! Or is that in the spirit? Into the spirits? Hmmmm...something like that!
