I'd have to say coffee. That's what I'm having right now, at midnight. I do enjoy an ice cold beer on a hot day and the occasional vodka paralyzer. Sweeter white wine with a nice meal and rye and ginger ale for a nightcap.
I haven't heard of any big fires here yet this year but we've had quite a few through recent years here and in BC as well. Unbelievably devastating and terrifying to see the destruction and it happens so fast sometimes there's nothing to do but run.
I've spent most of my life playing with mechanical things like bikes, cars, farm equipment. I think maybe I may have spent a little too much time and money hanging out in the garage by myself. Oh well!
I agree with Robert, a small collection would suit me much better. I've had over 250 vehicles not including bikes now and would find it tough to pick just one. Some if money wasn't an object would definately include a '71 Lamborghini Muira, '66 Ford GT40, '66 Cobra, '67 Mustang GT500KR, '60's E type Jag and the list would go on and on. I do have a couple of my drean cars right now but i haven't finished them yet. A '30 Ford Model "A" coupe with a 514 cid Ford big block and '66 Land Rover IIA 109 w/ a transplanted 5.0 H.O engine. Someday they'll be on the road too. Yes, I'm a gearhead!
You can't single out one specific thing and say,"that's it". Cars are likely the least of it compared to industry. Look at all the coal fired generating plants all over the world. The chemicals being used for all kinds of applications. Nuclear weapons testing. The list goes on forever. I still tend to think it's a natural cycle and mother nature is the primary source of the warming trend, we just slightly amplified and sped up the process. Unfortunately there's no money for scientists or a platform for politicians with that line of thinking so the blame will continue until we're all extinct just like the dinosaurs.
I've seen every critter that walks, crawls, slithers, flies or swims here in Alberta. I've eaten a number of them too! Stay away from "calf fries" or "prarie oysters" unless you like that type of thing.
I've been in this province since 1978 and it has changed an awful lot. I've lived in Edmonton, Calgary, Grande Prarie, Cadomin and a bunch of other smaller places. I'm selling my house and moving elsewhere. I'm not sure where yet but somewhere with milder winters. There's a ton of other reasons like the rising cost of everything and getting labour and material. Service almost everywhere you go is definately suffering due to lack of staff. Greed is running rampant in almost all sectors and there seems to be no end in sight. Property taxes keep going up with the price of housing without any added benefit and new user and service fees pop up out of nowhere. There are a lot of good things about Alberta but they don't outweigh all the negative aspects. At least not enough to make it worthwhile staying. Life's just too short to live somewhere you don't want to be. It doesn't feel like home anymore.
Marathon has it pretty much covered. The only other things would be to take the goats back out side from the spare bedroom, get the motorcycle out of the living room and take down all the nudie picture hanging on every single wall.
