After all the Democrats' emphasis the dangers of so-called "assault weapons," the details of Senator Dianne Feinstein's pending assault weapons ban show that her real goal is to ban handguns.
That's right, after all the criticism of the AR-15 and the holier-than-thou speeches about how no one needs a military-style rifle with a 30-round magazine the details of the ban betray a gun grab that includes semi-automatic pistols that use "a detachable magazine" and have "one military characteristic."
This can only mean that the most popular handguns in the world for both civilian and military use are being targeted. These would include Glocks, Sig Sauers, Smith & Wesson M&Ps, H&K, and Colt, yet would by no means be limited to these handguns alone.
Ironically, I was just talking to a friend this morning about how the "assault weapons" ban is just way for the Democrats to get their foot in the door and ban handguns. And now, before the legislation is even introduced, they've gone ahead and shown their hand.
But an even bigger problem lurks -- right now the focus is only on "assault weapons" and semi-auto handguns, however, as soon as a public crime is committed with a double-action revolver, Feinstein and Co. will try to add those to the list as well.
The bottom line: If we are foolish enough to embrace a ban on any weapon in the coming Congress then we are unwittingly embracing a ban on every weapon.
The Democrats cannot be trusted with our freedoms, and they will politicize every tragedy to accomplish their ends.
Proof of this lies in the fact that Feinstein was just waiting for a open door to push a gun ban anyway. In other words, this isn't because of Sandy Hook. Reports from early Nov. 2012 were already indicating the she planned to push a assault weapons ban if Obama were re-elected.
Again! So says the Gov and we all know the Gov only speaks in lies!! The reasons they offer for doing these things are written to sound good but in fact are completely BS! NO!! Gun is bad. PEOPLE the use then can be bad! Punishing 100,000,000 lawful citizens to do little more than slap a crook on the wrist is totally a BS thing to do!!
When your wife, GF, or kid is dead, shot by some robber, will you still think not having a gun and calling 911 was the right way? God forbid such a thing should ever happen, but as we all know from the recent CT school shooting, they damn sure DO happen!

For a time in the old west there were gangs that robbed banks and some trains. But it became common knowledge that the town's people killed the robbers in hails of bullets and that came to a stop. I lived in a small town in Georgia just outside Atlanta named Kennesaw. There was a terrible problem with home break-ins, and the locals biz out on the hiway being robbed that had gone on for years. It was made a law that every homeowner own a gun! Several robbers got shot down in the act by homeowners in the following 6 months or so, but then guess what? The robberies just stopped almost as if by magic!! The articles about robberies went from 3 to 4 a week ( sometimes more) of home break-ins to 1 every month or two. As robbers got shot and the cops came around to bag them and say thanks to the homeowner. So claim whatever you wish I saw and lived it that having guns DOES stop crime cold!! If it works in a small town like Kennesaw Ga. it will work anywhere! The Mayor of Kennesaw was on Johnny Carson about this so that tells you how long ago it worked, and still works today!!
I agree a tank could be a serious problem, but only at the beginning. As we all know tanks can only carry a limited number of shells. Simply go around the tank and cut it off from resupply. There it's semi-auto against auto mano a mano again. Once cut off and out of shells put a log in one of the tracks and the tank is stuck! BURN-EM OUT!!
You know it's so hard to measure without a ruler or tape measure and figure out just how big to carve 1000 little pictographs so they all will fit that rock they choose.

McKINNEY, Texas (AP) — Four children were airlifted to a Dallas hospital with critical burns after a gas can exploded on Christmas Eve next to an open fire pit in a backyard, a fire official said.
Two other children are in the hospital, one with serious injuries and the other with minor burns.
At least one of the children sprinkled gasoline on the fire Monday, and then left the can near the pit, said McKinney Fire Department spokeswoman Stacie Durham. The fumes from the can ignited, and all six children were nearby when it exploded, and the flames hit them, she said.
Deb Martin, a neighbor, told the Dallas Morning News she ran over to the house when she heard the explosion.
"It was a whoosh," Martin said. "I don't know how else to describe it, and the kids were screaming. I thought maybe it was a firecracker, but they kept screaming. Some of the kids were running from the backyard."
The injured children, ages 4 to 11, are related and some are siblings, Durham said. A fifth child also taken to the Dallas hospital was in serious condition, and a sixth was taken to a McKinney hospital with minor burns, she said.
The children were believed to have been left unsupervised in the backyard. Adults were inside the home at the time of the explosion.
There were several other children in the backyard that were unhurt, Martin said. She said she and other neighbors called 911 and removed the injured children's clothes because they were on fire.
A child who is believed not to have been injured ran into the home and told the adults there was an explosion and the children were on fire, Durham said.

"Obama's plan would bring spending from $3.62 trillion in 2013 to $5.63 trillion in 2022." The President's last fiscal cliff offer once again increased spending rather than reducing it," writes the minority-side of the Senate Budget Committee. "His plan does claim $800 billion in spending reductions over ten years, but these claims are more than offset by new spending increases: increasing spending above BCA limits ($1,200 billion); paying for the doc fix ($400 billion); new transportation stimulus spending ($50 billion), and; a one-year extension of unemployment insurance ($30 billion). After subtracting the president’s savings from his spending increases, over the next 10 years the President’s proposal actually spends $880 billion more - $44.368 trillion versus $43.488 trillion - than currently projected spending levels. In the next two years alone, the President’s plan would spend $255 billion over current projected spending levels ($156 billion higher in FY13 and $99 billion higher in FY14). Overall, spending would increase 55% under the President’s plan, from $3.6 trillion in FY13 to $ 5.6 trillion in FY22.
