Yes you are right and I also now remember the 7.6 NATO rounds it fired ( and all the specialized ammo ) . I guess I'm getting old and a little senile . By the way that M-14 was a sweet rifle a bit heavy after carrying it all day but sweet and reliable none the less . You will also notice Sargent that I did not say " gun " . . . . .
PS: NO I will not get down and give you twenty ! !
I do know how to use an M-1 . I was taught how in basic training . The M-16 was just starting to be the new service replacement . I also remember the problems it was having and the remedy's that finally did replace it in Nam .
As to the difference, I don't think I could have changed world events however I could at least set some of the record straight . Now as for using a service piece and waving it around , are you kidding ! ! ! ! After the first shot I would be so full of bullit holes they wouldn't need Oswald as a scape goat !
If given the chance I would like to be in Dallas on that Friday in November 1963 . I would also like to be equipped with a small 8mm camera as Mr. Zapruder was . The major difference is that I would be shooting ( pardon the pun ) the infamous " Grassy knoll " and of course the book depository . Now wouldn't that answer a lot of questions that have plagued us .
Of course it was not " justified " . When religion, and that entitles all religions, feel the right to criticize others then it should not object to the standards it sets .
