The World Bank website has an active record for “COVID-19 Diagnostic Test Instruments and apparatus (902780) exports by country in 2018” even though the World Health Organization did not name Coronavirus “COVID-19” until February 2020 amid this year’s outbreak. In 2018, the largest exporters of instruments and apparatus for diagnostic testing COVID-19 are the European Union (2,885,620.49 thousand USD), the United States (2,474,886.39 thousand USD, 3,008,040 items), Germany (2,282,319 , USD 47 thousand), Japan (USD 1,292,837.58 thousand), Singapore (USD 1,125,969.91,000, 62,765,200 items).
