I think that there is. I worked double shifts for 2 years (the second job was while he was at work) and bought my ex a trunk for our aniversary. He never knew how I came up with the money. And he wasn't SUPPOSED to know. It would have taken the fun out of it.
And there are alot of other instances too. Are you going to tell them every time someone hits on you? Heck no. Why would you do that to someone?
Time away doesn't always mean that you need time away from them. It just means you need to go do your thing for a while. As long as both understand that you are together and have trust. I don't think it is an issue.
