perhaps ... I regretfully doubt that it's genetic .. would be nice though I grew up there so nostalgia is like a rusty nail, aches deep with in my heart. The more time passes the stronger it gets. Just recently I've started relearning Russian. I never even learned how to type. Granted when I left internet was in it's infancy... Now I have to translate words back to my native language! I can't even express my self properly in writing. Assimilating is one thing but I feel I've giving up to much.
You express your self in a beautiful way ... done any writing professionally? Most people have a connection or drive toward one place or another. Russians have that connection with motherland that never goes away. I've noticed it's somewhat different for women...
It's a state of mind. The city can be the biggest inspiration and a saddest curse. Just like that glass... half full or half empty I was born in Moscow ... I miss the big city ...
