I don't read those threads because I don't like stories where I have a ninety two percent chance of being right about the ending.
For example, I have never seen a movie about the Titanic, I already know the ship sank.
There have been some wonderful success stories on CS but in those cases the romance was conducted between the people involved in and out of the forums, with occasional reports on progress topped by wedding pictures.
<Do you understand the mechanism behind it? Carrying out extra personal conversations in chatroom or in forums>
No, I don't understand it but I suspect our natural sense of privacy has been severely diluted by the talk shows and the antics of the paparazzi so it seems natural to go for TMI displays of public commitment.
<Could you?>
I prefer subtlety. <Should a personal convo be exposed for all to see? >
That is the posters' choice - I can leave a thread as quickly as I access it.
And while it is lovely to hear people have met successfully, are making a relationship grow I do feel declarations of undying love after a few emails is a tad premature.
<Is it to show the side of you in a relationship whether it could be love or friendship? Is it to see people agreeing with the way you handle your personal moments? Is it to feed peoples curiosity and boredom? Is it because you need an audience to speak up?>
It could be a combination of all or any of the above or some other emotional need, I suspect the outpourings of support and slightly envious congratulations that come from the CS members who respond to such threads creates an atmosphere of being cared for and cherished on all sides which is very rare in today's familiy or societal life.
<I've been seeing this phenomenon as you all have for some time now in here...from a good percentage of people in this site. This is not a critic, I just dont understand the mechanism behind it. So..enlighten me!?>
Enlightenment comes from within, but people respond to and keep these threads going, so the threads themselves are fulfilling a need for other than the OP.
Any thread or topic that does not catch the imagination or appeal to the majority sinks like a stone and dies a lonely death.
I want to ride the wind again, air solid mass beneath me pushing up to help me fly. eyes streaming tears all falling up, body yearning for the vibrant green that could be holding death if I should make a touchdown; I want to ride the wind again arms slicing air , hot knives dividing butter for the pancake I could be if wings don't grow in time to sweep me up and out and over the horizon, as feathers cartwheel earthward gleaming in the sun that stole the wax from Icarus, too jealous to let humans share the sky before they turn to dust and climb the ladder of the clouds heading for their second lives of particles suspended in the rain, drops stinging on the soft spots on my shoulders where the wings should be, soon now they'll grow to stop this headfirst tumble to eternity that I have risked because I want to ride the wind.
Whenever I sit down to write I need to remember to make sure there is nothing cooking on high heat or it will burn. I seem to have a food motif creeping in to my work at the moment.
Probably not enough romance around, and the weather is rather bland today.
Daydreams start their exercise, mind wanders through the future and the past just touching down at times to see the view of old love, wrinkled in the corner, cast off thoughts that could have been all ripe and bursting, grapes of passion turned to wrath and vinegar no sweet silk honey sliding down the throat just the stinging scent of charcoal, gentle mist ... of smoke? Oh gods, I've burned the toast again!
I think we have always looked outside ourselves for reasons and explanations so patterns and movement in the stars, something so out of reach, once noticed were bound to trigger a search for meaning.
There is an uncanny accuracy in a full blown horoscope taking into account all the elements in play at the moment of one's birth, and it flows through all the different astrological disciplines.
I am sure google has some theory on when it all started but I am betting from the first moment that a hominid looked up the game was on.
November 22-December 21 Owl Owl people are admired for their adventurous, freedom loving spirits. In most tribes, owls are thought to have mystical powers because of their night vision. It lets them see what others can't see. Owls are wise and honest.
RE: Public Announcments of Undying Love
Hi DBS, welcome to CS.Actually I can't.
I don't read those threads because I don't like stories where I have a ninety two percent chance of being right about the ending.
