Is giving up and never finding another partner somehow better than going out and looking for happiness with another? I don't get it.

I would agree that some women seem to feel they have to have a man to be happy, and jump from one relationship to another too quickly, but I don't know if it's more prevalent in western world countries than others. If so, maybe it's just the culture that frowns on divorced women remarrying. Not sure that's a good thing.

I feel unless one knows someone well, and knows that they can take it, criticism, constructive or otherwise, is usually not the right course. Some people seems to feel that since they are online and virtually anonymous, they can say whatever to whoever they please. If you wouldn't say it to a stranger in real life, don't do it here. I've been guilty at times of saying things I probably wouldn't have in person, but I'm not mean just because I can be on here. I've learned to tolerate, or ignore, a lot of people who I don't particularly respect, though I will say something if I feel they're being mean to someone else. Sometimes it's best to let stupid dogs lie.

Depression is not something to be ashamed of, it's an illness to be dealt with. Of course that's easy to say but hard to understand when you're the one depressed. Don't feel that no one can love you, but learn to love yourself, flaws and all, and you will be better able to find someone who can love you the same way.

There are plenty of women who have had the same problem who will understand. Don't give up, the right one for you is out there. And it might just be an eternal optimist who can make your world brighter, who knows. Just find yourself first, then you will find her.

I don't like the idea of meeting men in bars, that seems more dangerous that on the net, plus how are you going to get to know someone while trying to shout over the music. I joined this site just wanting to meet some nice local guys to go out with and have a good time, which I did.

On here you have the advantage of writing back and forth and really getting to know someone before you even meet. You can tell a lot about someone by the way they write, intelligence, charm, wit, all important things to me. Then if you like them you can meet in real life and see if they are the same in person.

It worked for me, I met a wonderful man, not even local. I wouldn't have dreamed of having a LDR, but we see each other every few weeks, talk on the phone every day, it works for me.

I came here for dating, fun, friendship. I've found it all. Don't know what you came here for, but if you haven't found it, it's not the site's fault, because a lot of people have found someone here. Three months is not that long. Give it some time, and just enjoy yourself. Think of it like being at a big party where you might or might not meet someone, but you can have fun with friends anyway. Laugh, cut up, flirt a little, be yourself, and enjoy the ride, instead of wondering where it's gonna end up.

I agree with Inky and mylifewithu. There's a reason why it's called a "killer smile." Most people can't resist smiling at someone who's smiling at them. And if you can make em smile, you make them feel good, and then you've got em wanting to get to know you.

I met my guy on here, and I fell in love with his smile before I even met him. It's still my favorite pic of him, he looks so happy in it, it just makes me happy to see it.

I'b had them get in the house on rare occasions too. The first time scared the living s**t outta me. I tried opening the doors and shooing it out with a broom, that didn't work, just got it more excited. After a couple more times I found out that if I just leave them alone, they'll either find their own way out, or go somewhere and sit still and I can throw a towel over it and pick it up and take it out.

Mice are the only things that make me scream like a little girl. I don't even like to see dead ones, they scare the bejeezus outta me, I don't know why. I don't have them here though, TG.

I didn't see this today, but the time of day you saw your beautiful sight today reminded me of it.

Between 5-5:30 one morning, at that gray time between dark and dawn, I looked out the back door, and there were what seemed like millions of bats flying around the back yard. They were flying back and forth gorging themselves before going home to roost, or whatever you call it that bats do, for the day. It was surreal, like something out of a Hitchcock movie. I just watched in awe, absolutely beautiful! I've seen them several times since then, but never quite as many as that first time. And I love that they are here, it keeps the mosquito population down to a bearable level!
