Grandma suggestions

I'm about to be a grandmother for the first time, and I'm looking for something a little different to be called. I'm open to anything, my ancestry includes a little of everything. I identify more with the Scot/Irish because that's my family name, but I also have everything from Native American to German mixed in. Give me some ideas from your country and heritage.

RE: WHY BAD THINGS HAPPEN TO GOOD PEOPLE?

I agree with this totally.

I've had bad things happen to me because of my bad choices, and a few that I had absolutely no culpability in. But I have grown because of them all. I have learned from my mistakes, and mostly I've learned that I can survive the pain, and that in itself makes me a stronger person, because I don't fear the worst anymore, I've already been through it.

RE: WHY MOST OF THE PEOPLE IN THESE FORUMS ARE .........

The main reason is that most (not all, there are exceptions here) young people have no interest in taking the time for intelligent conversation, they're just looking to get laid!

Not that most of what us old fogeys do here in any way resembles intelligent conversation. laugh

I think most of the people I've read here have young hearts, but then I don't read threads I'm not interested in so I can't say for all. Maturity is a good thing IMO, I can still remember my youth, but have no interest in repeating it.

RE: Should i have used the word "opinionated" in my profile description

So in answer to your original question, which I kinda lost sight of in reading this whole thread, no, don't use the word in your profile. If that's who you are, they'll figure it out soon enough. One second thought, maybe you should use it and save the poor women some time. laugh

RE: Should i have used the word "opinionated" in my profile description

According to MW, opinionated means "unduly adhering to one's own opinion or to preconceived notions."

By that definition, being opinionated is a bad thing IMHO. Having an opinion is one thing, being married to it to the exclusion of all others isn't.

RE: IS 'HEAVEN' OTHER PEOPLE?

Awww, you should have left him in.

I like lizards, they're cute and they eat bugs. grin

RE: IS 'HEAVEN' OTHER PEOPLE?

It wasn' t there until you looked at it! laugh

RE: What is the one thing you cannot live without?

cheers Thanks friend!

RE: What is the one thing you cannot live without?

Since family and friends includes my child, I picked one. Actually 1 includes everyone I need. Even CS friends. grin

RE: BnaturAls HurriedScopes 2

PISCES:
Hey you're not afloat this week, Phew! You're almost able to stand up once again, but you know it wont be long before you grow gills again and have to head back to your emotional ocean. A happy crowd awaits you however, you'll be feeling kind of like .. well Nemo and yes there will be a Dory, one innimable and brain scattered fish trying to lead you in your right but her wrong direction. I know this makes sense to you.

Not really, but then I didn't see Nemo. laugh

RE: getting e-mails from the gents girlfriend!!!

He's already deleted his profile, or she did, or he got kicked off. I wouldn't worry about it.

If he's such a dog, why does she care who talks to him? Some women I do not understand. dunno confused

grin To each their own.

My nomination for worst comedy(?) ever, Little Nicky. The definitive Adam Sandler. doh grin

RE: If you had to vote right now.....

IMO, neither of them can be trusted. Two for one, perish the thought!

Did you see the ABC (I think) news special on her little show of emotion that seemingly turned things around for her in NH? The woman who asked the question that elicited the response didn't even vote for her. Hillary is far too calculating, will say or do anything to win.

I'm not sure if Bill will be out if she doesn't win in Nov, there's always next time. She will keep him around if he's an asset, if perceived by her as a detriment he'll be gone.

As far as separate bedrooms, they don't even live in the same house for chrissakes!

RE: What exactly do you need in your life right now?

I've got everything I need. Want is another matter. Got any of that chocolate pie left? grin

RE: For everyone an CS and around this beautiful world.

Yeah, they have, but can always use more, thanks H. hug

I saw Love Actually, actually it was pretty good.

Down with Love sounds good, I like Renee Zellweger (sp?).

I want to see I Am Legend, may even go to the movies to see it and not wait for it to come out on DVD.

I wasn't really interested in 300 when I first read about it, but so many here have said it's good, I'm gonna try it.

Crank sounds like a good edge of the seat thriller.

Adam Sandler I'm not too crazy about in most of his flicks, he just gets too stupid sometimes, I might like 50 First Dates tho. Has anyone seen Chuck and Larry? It sounds funny and I like Kevin James, but it could be just mindless.

Now showing...

in your living room.

What's new out to rent that's good. I haven't been following movies much lately. All you movie critics out there, give me some reviews.

What I've seen lately that I liked was Bourne Ultimatum, Live Free or Die Hard, Pursuit of Happyness, Cars (ok, that was a while back), Apocalypto, that's about all I can think of. What did you like, and why?

RE: why is life so complicated when you want that someone you like very much.

Ah, the old want what we can't have syndrome. Forbidden fruit always seems sweetest, unless you get it.

RE: If you had to vote right now.....

It's between Rudy and Obama for me. I usually vote Rep, but I'm not too crazy about anybody right now.

The front-runners in both parties are my least faves. McCain doesn't do it for me, Huckabee and Romney scare me. And anybody but Hellary!

RE: What is the last movie you saw?

That sounds good, I like Denzel in just about everything he does. thumbs up

RE: What is the last movie you saw?

At home, Bourne Ultimatum. Theatre, American Gangster. I liked both.

Bourne would have been better on big screen, awesome chase scenes! thumbs up applause

RE: What is your favorite type of kiss?

Somehow the pic of you in the wig sorta ruins the mood of this. laugh

RE: What is your favorite type of kiss?

All of the above, in this order, 3, 2, 1 then other. kiss

RE: What kind of lover are you...???

All of the above. grin

RE: Is it possible.. to over-look THE ONE?

Things happen the way they're supposed to. If it's meant to be it will be. No regrets, only lessons. kiss

RE: Tell me about yesterday

It was great yesterday, 70-something, I too opened the doors and let some fresh air in. Got some house cleaning and yard work done. Met with friends that evening, came home and got my nightly phone call, all in all a great day. thumbs up

Weather's great again today, have to work. thumbs down

RE: WHICH ANIMAL YOU WOULD LIKE TO BE ... AND WHY ... YOU CAN CHOOSE ... OR SAY MORE ...

I want to be a house cat, they have it made. They don't have to do anything they don't want. There's always a bowl of food and water that you don't even have to work for. Sleep whenever and wherever you feel like. Get petted and stroked and loved for the asking, then just ignore the pettor till you feel like it again. I would make someone a great pet! laugh
