When I had pneumonia it was caused by bronchitis and I had the exact same cough that she had. The pneumonia put me in the hospital for a week and bed rest at home for a month. Unless she is on a strong antibiotic she will probably have a relapse. Bed rest is very important when you are dealing with pneumonia. I went back to work too soon and I still have the cough but not pneumonia.
You made my point. So you just read threads and think ... I would like to respond to what she said ... no, forget about it.
Take a chance and build your confidence little by little. Interact with da vimmen. They like to laugh. Get in a thread and voice your opinion. Not all women will like it but there just might be one who sends you an email to ask you about what you write. You've been here a long time. We're pretty sure you're not an axe murder. Jac has that job.
Do you really believe that you are an undesirable or did someone say that to you?
BTW, I like the picture of you hanging out on the bed cause I can see your face. Maybe somebody else is thinking the same thing.
I don't know if you are working Auntie but think back to your last job, or the one you are in. When you went on the interview did you dress for the environment of the job? Wouldn't that be the way you would continue to dress.
Do you think she wore a dress like that to her interview?
If this teacher dressed in jeans and a nice shirt or sweater I wouldn't have a problem with it because she will be with a classroom of crazy kinds and probably down on the floor picking up stuff they throw around. I doubt she does any bending in that dress.
Do people always have to be told what is right and what is wrong?
There's good and bad to that Molly. I was in a longterm relationship with someone who tried to pound his ideas into my head because he believed his way was the only way. I tried to save that relationship but just had to give up. But he did like to talk. He just didn't know how to show respect.
I like to discuss things not belabor one side points. For instance I would have liked to discuss further the schoolteacher thread as to why she should be allowed to wear what she wants or why it will have a bad affect on the students. But it didn't go that way so I gave up.
Men will turn to the man cave attitude to appear to be tough because that's what they think women want.
Women are not all alike. Some like the guy who has muscles and wears a black leather jacket. Other's like the lumberjack who wears a plaid shirt. And others want the guy who wears a suit and tie to work everyday.
I'm not saying what I would want if I was looking.
I don't know if there is a written dress code. I worked for a large corporation and a law office. I didn't have to be told how to dress. The knowledge just goes with the job.
It is my opinion that men are very private. They really don't like to voice what they truly think about something unless it is political as we have seen on here. Some men on here probably are hoping to find someone but you will never know it. They put on a façade to appear to be negative about everything. If they see someone they would like to get to know they do not write about it in the forums and why should they.
However, it is also my opinion that women will show in the forums that they are interested in a guy. Women are more positive then men are and will take more chances then men when looking for a relationship. If they truly have a positive personality it will show up. Not many men would want a woman who is negative in everything she says.
I'm not looking for anyone but that doesn't mean that I am negative towards all men. It's too late for me and I honestly don't have the patience anymore to groom him to my standards.
I think you're missing the point of the article Tom.
When you were in the 11th grade teachers probably dressed with a button open on the top of their shirt or maybe a tight dress.
It was a different world then. Teachers are more then teachers these days. They set examples. Sometimes a child doesn't have a good home life so the teacher fills in guiding them.
I wouldn't want this teacher guiding my child. You have to look the part to BE the part.
If you didn't open the link then you wouldn't see all the pictures of the way she dresses.
My opinion is that this dress if fine for the club but it's not a professional way to dress as a teacher.
Teachers are molding children for the future. There is no way a child will listen to what she says. They will be focusing on how big her breasts and butt are and comparing it to the way their mother or sister dresses.
If he returns to the USA he will be tried for treason.
There is a new movies called SNOWDEN. It is being said that Oliver Stone, the director of the movie, got a lot of things wrong in the details. But one thing he got right was that Snowden accidentally saw how the NSA was spying on USA citizens.
You can say he did the country a favor by telling us what the NSA did or you say he committed treason. I personally have no favor for anyone who commits treason so I say no pardon. He doesn't deserve it.
It most certainly is possible to insult the flag because our flag is a symbol for the following reasons.
"There is power in symbols.
Betsy Ross
While any individual U.S. flag is physically no more than a piece of fabric emblazoned with stripes and stars, it remains a poignant symbol of our nation, and symbols, such as banners, sigils and flags have inspired and united people for centuries.
Betsy Ross house
Betsy Ross is herself a symbol. The story of the humble seamstress creating a flag for the emerging nation is a treasured national legend. But she was more than just a legend.
Betsy was a real historical figure and a subject of ongoing research and inquiry. Her story would remain inspirational regardless of whether additional evidence emerges to corroborate it, but we should not be at all surpised if it does.
"History" is not a clear and precise record of the past. It's a continuing process of gathering and analyzing evidence, and some parts of our past will always remain unclear. We can hope that evidence will further clarify Betsy's story, but she, like the flag itself, will always be an inspirational symbol and a cherished part of our national legacy.
Frequently Asked Questions
Who created the U.S. flag? Was it Betsy Ross?
Maybe! In fact, it seems highly probable, but no preserved documents from the Continental Congress or the personal correspondance of George Washington or any related figures has emerged to either confirm or contradict the claims made by Betsy's decendents.
What do the red, white, and blue of the flag represent?
The Continental Congress left no record to show why it chose the colors. However, in 1782, the Congress of the Confederation chose these same colors for the Great Seal of the United States and listed their meaning as follows:
•Red: Valor and hardiness, •White: Purity and innocence •Blue: Vigilance, perseverance, and justice.
According to legend, George Washington interpreted the elements of the flag this way: the stars were taken from the sky, the red from the British colors, and the white stripes signified the secession from the home country. However, there is no official designation or meaning for the colors of the flag.
Why are the stars in a circle?
The stars were in a circle so that no one colony would be viewed above another. It is reported that George Washington said, "Let the 13 stars in a circle stand as a new constellation in the heavens."
Why would Betsy Ross be chosen to make the flag?
It was usual in that day for upholsterers to be flagmakers. As Betsy Ross prayed in the pew next to George Washington and had already sewn buttons for him, and she was a niece of George Ross, it is not exceptional that these members of the Flag Committee formed by the Continental Congress would call upon Betsy Ross to make the flag.
Why is the flag called "Old Glory"?
In 1831, Captain William Driver, a shipmaster from Salem, Massachusetts, left on one of his many world voyages. Friends presented him with a flag of 24 stars. As the banner opened to the ocean breeze, he exclaimed, "Old Glory." He kept his flag for many years, protecting it during the Civil War, until it was flown over the Tennessee capital. His "Old Glory" became a nickname for all American flags.
I thought this thread was about Colin Kapernacknacknack.
It went from an American football player who is half white/half black who is refusing to respect the National Anthem of America and now the thread relates him to the Bolsheviks
