I beg to differ Molly .. I'm a great judge of character, which is why I ask to Skype , purely for the reason that when things don't add up , or I have doubts , I think skyping is the only solution. If the facility is there , why not use it & im a firm believer that a face says more that words could ever say .
Humans are visual creatures, like it or not .. If you're willing to travel to , what can only be described as a blind date, so be it , but I won't be taking that risk.
Let's say for example , you got chatting to someone from abroad .. now I know you're gonna say "I don't date outside my country , but if someone was going to a lot of trouble & expence , for arguments sake, wouldn't you be a little curious to talk face -face .. Isn't that a reasonable request ?
Talking of double standard .... Wasn't it America who funded The Hussain regime , backed bin laden, instigated the Turkish invasion of Cyprus & is still pumping millions into Turkey ? Yep , the USA helped all those Muslim countries , in an attempt to fight communism, so don't "cry wolf" now, when you caused this mess we live in now !
Looks are the first thing people notice & you only get one chance to make a first impression! The fact that you got him under your spell within a couple of Skype calls , says a lot about your charming character!!
The last 3 women I've mailed on here , have refused to video call, even after interacting with them for a reasonable amount of time . So , should I be suspicious?
Why do people still refuse to Skype, FaceTime, or another video call, or a simple phone chat & insist on texting or emailing?? Are they just shy , or are they hiding something ?
