RE: Out Of Control Teenager or is it about A Police Officer Who is Out of Control

Yeah, we don't know the role of the parents and whether they have or are a positive caring influence on their daughter.
Either way I think the girl needs to be punished and felt the whole sorry saga was handled badly by the officer, and by the school/teacher, depending on what the instructions/regulations for this situation were. At the end of the day Monte, they were the adults in this situation.

Hope you're well.

RE: Out Of Control Teenager or is it about A Police Officer Who is Out of Control

Hiya Monte wave

Would agree that both were wrong in their actions but feel the resultant actions by the officer were way out of proportion to her wrong doing.

RE: the right to bear arms

No need, I'm from Dublin and lived there most of my life.
And yes, there is murder and death by gunfire unfortunately.

Its still far less per capita than the US, fortunately for us.

RE: the right to bear arms

This is what you said

It didn't and I fail to understand why you would say it did.
As I say, you either.
Didn't read it.
Did not comprehend it.
Or deliberately lied about it dunno

Here it is again.

Even a biased piece like this does not claim that you live in a better and safer place than the rest of the world rolling on the floor laughing as evidenced by the statistics in the piece.

You start a thread asking questions.
When you don't like some of the answers you make outlandish claims like above. Your bias and agenda is actually nauseating.

Done replying to you wine

And for the record.
I am not against responsible gun ownership.

The only point I am making is the right to bear arms and the irresponsibility of the lawmakers and the owners leads to innocent lives being lost.
There is a cost to having that right.

peace

RE: the right to bear arms

thumbs up

RE: the right to bear arms

Wow.

You either
A. Did not read the link Lyndsay.
B. Did not comprehend the link.
C. Or are deliberately misleading people about the article.

Which is it ?

Here is the link Conrad posted

Better and safer place than the rest of the world rolling on the floor laughing

Ta for the laugh wine

RE: the right to bear arms

As I said earlier it seems to be a cultural thing Moose and I do respect people's right to bear arms.
But so long as people know that innocent people will be because of this right. There are a lot of responsible gun owners and there is merit in some people owning guns.

Yeah me too Moose, I reckon the craic would be had cheers

RE: the right to bear arms

RE: the right to bear arms

Thanks for posting a link proving that there is a loophole, even if people try to skew the figures laugh

RE: the right to bear arms

I see you still dip in and post a dubious conservative biased link from time to time laugh
I think the opposite is true Conrad laugh

If you want to compare murder rates from the US against Venezuela, Mexico and Panama, with all their inherent problems you go right ahead.
I try to hold the US to a higher standard and their murder rates per capita is well above so called civilised societies as your link proves.
Part of the reason innocent people get killed, is the right to bear arms, the gun laws, and the gun lobby.

Hope your health is well Con cheers

RE: the right to bear arms

Is it not true that you can buy a vast range of guns at gun fairs without background checks ?

Mental incapacity is a huge factor in this but a persons mental health can change very quickly.

RE: the right to bear arms

Apologies Moose, just seen you were from Canada.
Not sure about the gun laws in Canada.

RE: the right to bear arms

Nope, never said the US was to blame for that Moose, not sure where that came from confused

Comparing other ways people can be murdered really does not help. Anyone brandishing a knife going into a school is going to be taken out before they can kill 10/15/20 people. Comparing murder rates for guns against knives/baseball bats etc is ludicrous in my opinion.

Listen, in the US its a cultural thing and ingrained in people this right to bear arms and I respect that. I really do.

But because of your gun laws innocent people are killed, at a higher rate than in other so called civilised societies.

Thats the price thats paid, unfortunately.
