And if they are smart that don't blow it all (and they usually do blow it all and give it away, to moochers), then inheritance tax is at least 30%

I read over and over that financial experts recommend getting a lawyer immediately and sitting on the money for a year - to better spend it wisely.

I don't think I could wait a year. But I don't think I would blow it all either.
One thing is for sure, I wouldn't tell people - all those LONG LOST relatives and acquaintances will be coming out of the woodwork like roaches looking for crumbs! Along with charities, we never heard of

Raised by parents, 2 sets of grandparents and other extended family, (most who lived within an 8 block range) who experienced the effects of wars and The Great Depression. Who knew, the future is uncertain but carried on and valued and appreciated what they had, and each other.

But stocked up for winter or a rainy day or another Depression or war.

But they knew what they were doing. They were doing what THEIR ansestors did. And today, the media and political figures call it prepping And look down on it, and even blame people for preparing for an uncertain future.

I fear for the younger generations, their dependency on the Government and State and Entitlement Thinking... Is their enemy.
I think they, and America itself ...are in for quite a shock.
