Not to labour the point but our doctors in particular are on three four holidays a year...have built extensions to their waiting rooms to accomodate more patient. It's not all doctors that are under pressure and have targets to meet.
I can only speak from what I see...but most are near retirement and hopefully wat follows are more patient conscious ones.
You have lucked out then Molly. I hate taking Meds even for a headache. But it's very hard nowadays to get a decent doctor...and I've been to all in my town.
Most surgeries won't even work by appointment ..they work by the volumes coming to.to see them...they rush through patients and don't speak in lay mans terms in order to push pills on patients.
But sadly I doubt this will change because the doctors coming up are in a society where Meds take precedence. It's a sad fact....and u would think in Ireland especially where the suicide rate is I assume high...that other methods are not taken into account first.
I agree the word magic was said in jest. Not just pharmaceutical companies r the problem.the doctors themselves r the worst. Busy waiting rooms r the issue for them....more people to see more money for the Doctor. I was at a doctor once for an issue and I was in serious pain....she wouldn't prescribe what I needed but simply told me "u poor pet u don't come here often enough".
The greed of doctors is the problem also...they don't see a patient they see euro signs.
But such is the problem with Irish society and the need for talk therapies and the stigma that goes with all that.
