I think the same . I’ve always encouraged mine & given her encouragement & the confidence to achieve greatness , even to the point of making sacrifices in order to give her a better life than I had . BTW . She’s currently living in your neck of the woods & has just moved to a bigger apartment.
One of the hardest things in life is to raise children, after all, parenting doesn’t come with a manual. So was parenting a success for you ? Have your offspring become good citizens & have they made a success of their lives . Being a single parent myself , from a personal point of view , I'm very proud of my daughter and her achievements in such a limited time . What’s your experience been like ?
I’m not sure if religion is major factor when it come to domestic violence is concerned. If you take some parts of the Middle East where women have minimal rights and it is acceptable for women to be beaten like an egg for something very trivial .
That’s normal .. If you get to a stage in a relationship where you’re comfortable with each other , then yes , complacency sets in . It’s no reason for a break up unless you are a complete attention seeker .
Let’s do the real maths . Say your income is 1500 units & your spouse is 1000… your household expenses are 1000 , which leaves a surplus of 1500- an extra 500 for extra expense for your spouse , which includes electricity, food & other household expenses , you still have a surplus of 1000.
It’s a well known fact that many marriages fail due to financial difficulties. I’m a very knowledgeable man .. if I could site my sources , my brain would be clogged up with how I got my knowledge.
When did I mention who earns more . You are the one who brought the competitive side of gender financial supremacy.
How can you be better off financially. If a home is bringing home an income of 1.5 , as you stated & your ex brought home 1 , that equal 2.5 , which by my calculations is greater than 1.5
I’m not sure about peer pressure being a major factor , when it seems that there is less pressure on western people to marry , yet they have the most divorces , whereas other cultures are groomed for that purpose, which bodes well when tying the knot. I think it is irrelevant to say that women being independent, or have equal financial stability nowadays, has any relevance in regards to marriage. In fact , it would lessen the burden financially.
Why can’t you have fun with your spouse , or children . Surely people get to a maturity in some stages of their lives where they look for other pleasure .
Any man that sees women as equals , obviously hasn’t got a clue about women . Both genders have their roles to play, which doesn’t mean that one is less important than the other . Responsibility has nothing to do with any beastly, or caveman actions . It more a respect thing & understanding how to keep a family unit together, irrespective of hardships that may arise.
There are many reasons for marriage breakups, infidelity, domestic violence, to name but a few but why is it such a trend in the west & not so much in other cultures. The reason being , most men never grow up , especially in America & Britain to a certain degree. They can’t handle the responsibility of marriage. Looking after & family & the financial aspects that go with it . So what do they do when the going gets tough?? Run for the hills . So there you have it .. real men don’t run from their responsibilities.
RE: So much maturity on the forums...
I once went to a fancy dress party with an ex. Me dressed as a chicken & her as an egg.. and to answer that age old question .. it was the egg
