Yes there is that arguement regarding taking the taboo away from Alcohol. I have heard this many times that if children are brought up around alcohol at dinner time etc then chances are they will see having one glass at mealtimes as the norm .Therefore alcohol is demystified and not considered sych a big deal, however the opposite effect can ocur . It is (some experts say) determined from your first drink ,what the relationship you have with alcohol will be .
its a reasonable question . There is a huge drinking culture both in the UK and Eire , it stems I think, partly to youngsters having more of a disposible income and the fact that drink is so easy to come by . Also things have moved on for woman the past 20 years or so, they will go out and get as pissed as the lads , as is their right. But drunkeness is a huge problem now. Governments are unable to tackle this issue successfuly. How do you ie the govrnment infringe on peoples rights ? Education is not working!!
As a now drinker ,I don't frequent pubs or clubs and am so happy not too
