This was a very big topic in Canberra after the 2003 fires. and a good question to deal with.
I can understand the frustration of paying nearly a grand a year for cover for many years and the person next to you doesn't. But in the end the insured person will come out better. It's just meeting the immediate needs first.
Insurance is seen as luxury item by some and it is the first thing to be cut from the budget before the electricity is.
Then there are renters, who don't think their stuff is worth insuring - normally thinking just about theft of the PS3 and TV. Not expecting to lose the whole lot in one go.
Many here were later well under insured. Since it had been 25+ years since they built in Duffy had no idea what it costs today to build and fit out a house from scratch. Many also found they had to spend another $10K to demolish and remove the remains of their home and it wasn't covered in the fine print.
Thanks Ralf, 200kb jpeg limit makes it a bit hard, although I'm now wondering if my digital camera is objecting to the sand I dropped it into last month
We all have things we have wanted to learn how to do in our lives.
Not talking employment related, just something you knew in your heart you always wanted to do, but you could never justify the expense or time.
For me, I've recently realised I always wanted to learn to ride a horse - properly, as opposed going on a trail ride and praying the horse I was on knew where and what it was doing lol.
What else is there out there we never learn to do?
Yes, of course there are many more single mothers out there than single fathers. I can only presume that it is harder when you have to 'sell' the 'package deal' to a prospective new boyfriend. But there are men who want to know the answer to this question, like me.
Only last month I had someone new at my work show interest in me but back off once I said my weekend was spent with three kids.
That's fair enough too, because for the foreseeable future I have a long term commitment for a lot of my spare time and money. I can't just piss money up the wall on an exotic romantic holiday like a non parent, because there's always something better I could be doing with it.
Not to mention a toxic ex, which no matter what, I will still have to deal with for a long time yet. Sometimes it a bit much to expect from someone new, especially if they are not a parent.
Yep some of us with the Y chromosome are in the same shoes.
But I think it's the first time I've seen one single letter throw the whole context of a question. I thought it was quite good. (Although at you're expense - sorry!)
RE: Have you been bored enough too..............
Doesn't Cerberus fall within 25k of Cowes? And what/where is RQ?
