RE: How is your day today?

I can't wait for today to be over, then it will be tomorrow and my daughter and family are coming to stay with me for 2 weeks. Woohoo!!cheering

RE: What was your first car?

My first car was a Triumph Herald coupe. My then boyfriend gave it to me when he bought himself a decent car, think this was about 1973 and it was worth about £50. Those were the days! Remember hand signals?

RE: Whats your weather like?

It's 7.30 pm and still hot outside. Time for a cool glass of wine I thnk wine

RE: Whats your weather like?

It's 8.30 in the evening and still very hot and humid here, think it's time for the air-con and a cool glass of wine!

RE: Why is it

I had the same reaction when I indicated I was not looking for a relationship with someone who was separated. To me, that means they are still married, and as such have matters to sort out with their previous relationship. I got several people telling me they'd been separated for years and didn't see why I had a problem with that but I was simply staing my preferences, just as they were free to state theirs. I was quite happy to agree to differ but they seemed to want to prove a point.

RE: "Smells" that evoke Childhood Memories

My dad used to use Brylcreem, I used to love the smell of it, always reminded me of him.

RE: ex-pats what do you miss?

I miss my friends and family, can get everything else I need over here.

RE: How is your day today?

Why do they always mention the police? Don't they know Tomboygirl is related to them all here and we've always been let off up to now?

Sorry, seem to have hijack this thread.

RE: What's made you smile today?

Got a car if I'm going to use 4 wheels! Am trying to get used to the scooter as friends and family will have the use of my car while they're here on holiday.

RE: What's made you smile today?

Getting home in one piece after my first time going to work on the scooter laugh

RE: How is your day today?

Came to work on the scooter this morning, it's over 12k so not round the corner. I'm ok on the straight, it's corners I've got a problem with, obviously need to relax more and remember to lean or I just go in a straight line!

RE: How is your day today?

Errrrrrrr, had to check back in case I'd actually said that..........unfortunately didn't read your kind offer until today so hope you weren't hanging about wondering what to do wuith your whip.

RE: why is it so hard to meet people of my age

Hey - two compliments - thanks guys blushing

RE: What do you see out of your window?

I have in front of my home a beautiful 11th century church, parts dating back to the 5th century. Its name lierally means 'Built by Angels'. It's very famous in Cyprus and we get lot of visitors to it.

RE: How is your day today?

We had a moped last year - they call them chicken chasers over here.

RE: How is your day today?

You can't beat sliding naked into bed between white sheets nicely ironed.

Must admit I do have a thing about my beds, like them to look and feel nice............who knows, one day I might get some guy to give them a close inspection............I live in hope!

RE: How is your day today?

Spent all morning ironing sheets and making beds after my son and his family went back home from spending 2 weeks with me.

Then the guy from the bike shop brought the scooter back that my son managed to trash and charged me €233 for putting it right. Have decided to start using it myself so if you see me wobbling along the road in Larnaca please give me a wide berth!

RE: why is it so hard to meet people of my age

Oi! I'll have you know we are definitely alive and kicking and waiting for you over 50's men - yes, that's your age group too Jonnt - to stop looking for women young enough to be their daughters and appreciate the many over 50's ladies available!

RE: old lovers

I get on great with my ex now and he can't understand why I won't try again since we get on so well but I remember all too well why we weren't compatible. He's a very dear friend now but if we tried again I just know he would drive me potty!

RE: Whats your weather like?

Nice and sunny and 36C forecast for the rest of the week.

RE: Are woman mean?

You seem to be very fond of sweeping generalisations. There are women on this site who state they are here just for the forums as they are not looking for a partner, the name of this site is Connecting Singles and does not necessarily mean connecting in a romantic way.

You are projecting a rather pedantic personality and these threads have done you no favours. My own experience has been to meet someone new for a coffee initially, if you don't hit it off neither of you have wasted much time. A meal is an awful long time to be stuck with someone you would rather not be with.

I wish you luck in your search but I think you have alienated a lot of women by classing us all the same as the ones you have already met.

RE: Are woman mean, please see EU Forum before voting

Well one person agrees with you...........oh wait a minute........it's from a man.........over 41............not you is it?

Apart from the fact that any woman from this site who arranged to meet up with you is going to expect you to whip out a calculator at the end of the date...............why have you got such a grumpy looking photo on your profile when you have 2 much nicer ones you could've used?

You don't seem as if you want to project a positive image of yourself which makes me wonder why you are on a dating site at all.

RE: Are woman mean?

I don't know what type of women you are meeting but I can assure you that the last date I had, a few weeks ago, I met him halfway because he lived a two hour drive away, AND I paid half off the bill for the meal. I wouldn't dream of doing anything else and as for your comment 'and mostly expect to give something in return', you do right to blush at spouting such tripe. With attitudes like that I can certainly see where you're going wrong!

RE: I'm a............

Well they say it's true but since was a couple hundred years ago who's to say? Having lived there for some time, nothing would surprise me.

RE: I'm a............

Since I used to live in Hartlepool people used to assume I was a monkey hanger - no explanation needed.

Actually I'm a pit yacker. (Someone who comes from a mining village)

RE: Refreshment

Smoky.......I can barely speak Greek sober, I've got no chance drunk!

RE: Whats your weather like?

Still hot here at 7.45 pm. Forecast 30C tomorrow, think our summer is definitely here!

Sorry, just realised the UK forum probably didn't want to know that.

RE: Ants

I just puffed the powder along the skirting boards in the kitchen and in my bin outside. No idea where the nest was but not seen one since in a year, even outside.

RE: Ants

Ants are a big problem over here but I haven't seen one either in the house or patios since I used an ant killer called.............er............Ant Killer. Big orange plastic canister, with 'ant killer' in large black letters. Only cost me €1.99 over here and you just puff the powder where you've seen the ants and they take it back to the nest and kill all the others. Never known anything work as well as this. Made by Doff, address in Nottingham and says on the side distributed in Ireland by Unichem so you should be able to get it there.

RE: Lets Be Friends

Let's be honest here - if she sees you as a friend she sure don't see you as a lover. Enjoy her friendship by all means but look for someone who sees you in a differnt light.
