RE: Are the men/women who are online dating, really into finding someone?

Absolutely! Just often the people I'm interested in meeting havn't been on in a year or more. But I have met three people through here, still searching for that one that can hook me though!

Hello Connecting Singles!

It's been quite awhile since I've been on here.. Thought I'd try my luck again. I've met a few nice women through this site but usually live awfully far away, Is there anyone in the Gwinnett area?! =o)

RE: DO YOU BELIEVED "THE END OF THE WORLD IS NEAR?"

lol, every generation thinks of themselves so highly that the world is meant to end in their lifetimes! How poetic that must sound to yourself, unfortunately... I give our world another 3 Billion years and our Species a lot more than that... Would be kind of nice to go back to a hunter gather society, survival of the smartest!

RE: The pic above are they Hot or Not?

She looks very pretty from what I can see in the photo!

RE: Having kids in your early 20's

Congrats! That's awesome cheers !! Personally I want to wait until I've finished school and am married and have our own home.. financially stable and ready to afford kids. Some people are in their early 20's but I suppose I've been a bit of a late bloomer! Also there's the fact that my ex barely brought home enough money to cover the utilities after she paid for her gas and what-not.. The girl I've just started seeing is a manager at a Khols department store and seems very independent financially, so combined we would be just fine if it works out! I was figuring marriage and children in my 30's, but that can always be bumped up if I end up with someone like the girl I'm seeing now, way too early to tell but one can always hope right? =oP Good luck to you and all single parents though! You definatly have my respect for doing what you have to to provide for your family!

1st Date Ideas? Help! 24 and confused! Please!

**** Update ****

Took her to a hockey game on the glass and picker her up and got her flowers- Turned out GREAT! This girl is so amazing and I'm really glad she happened across me on the other dating site, even got myself a kiss when I walked her to her door, initiated by her =o). So far seems to be everything I'm looking for! I let her know it's been about 3 years since I've been in the dating scene and I think it made it easier on me to under promise and over deliver lol. She is beautiful, smart, independent and we love to do most of the same things! Ill keep you all updated as it goes since you did help me feel a bit more at ease, definatly not looking to just get laid, looking for a keeper so no "bagging" on the radar angel Think ill see if she's free again next Wednesday and have her pick something to do, turns out she lives about 45 minutes away including traffic so its a bit of a haul but the possibility of this working out for us is definatly worth the drive!

I was thinking it would be nice to maybe mail her something sweet after we've had a few dates since no one really does that anymore, always a great surprise to get something in the mailbox with a handwritten address that's not a bill right? laugh Still appreciating any good date ideas other than dinner and what-not, and yea I did give you all credit by letting her know I asked on here for date ideas lol. She likes motorcycles but I've never driven one, she enjoys shooting so a firing range would be a really interesting and fun part to a date. I have lots of friends with boats and jet skiis and live right by a very large lake but the water is still cold I'm sure-

Anyway, thanks for all your advice and any more you have for me I'm all ears! Keep ya posted =o)

1st Date Ideas? Help! 24 and confused! Please!

lol actually from Buffalo NY originally so no drunken swamp nights for me!

I think a hockey game would be fun if she likes that, or dave n busters since it would be a lot more laid back playing games and having a few drinks- the countdown is on, 3 days people! doh

1st Date Ideas? Help! 24 and confused! Please!

Yea I've been out of a relationship with my ex for a year now and am finally ready to move on, just a bit nervous about it is all it is I think..

1st Date Ideas? Help! 24 and confused! Please!

Good ideas! banana I'm also thinking it might be a good idea to ask her what she wants to do, but I'd want to have a plan for the day/evening in case she leaves it up to me. It's really like a blind date, and I've never been on one before and like you all are saying.. first impressions are really important so I don't want to give her the wrong idea is all, and I've never dated anyone older than me before.

1st Date Ideas? Help! 24 and confused! Please!

Haha yea true, I won't drink more than 2 beers if I have to drive anywhere though so that's not an issue. Neither one of us can sit through a movie in a theater without getting bored, that's why I was kinda unsure about the picnic. I have ADD like crazy and she does too. Hard to not get bored doing just one thing for very long unless its very entertaining.

Keep em coming everyone! This is helping me think!!

1st Date Ideas? Help! 24 and confused! Please!

Yea forecast looks good for that day by the way, about 74 and just a few clouds. Not sure about the picnic thing though, sounds nice.. but I think we both may be a bit too ADD for it.

RE: I HAVE FIGURED OUT WHY THE LEFT CALL PALIN UNQUALIFIED..

I wouldn't say she's unqualified... after Bush was reelected we kinda learned there really aren't any qualifications to meet.

It's just the vibe she gives off that makes me feel like my 15 year old nephew could probably teach her more than she could him that turns me off.

I think with her it's sort of like right after the OJ trial, we all knew but still wanted that polygraph.. With Palin it's the same thing only with an IQ test.

1st Date Ideas? Help! 24 and confused! Please!

Ok so I've met this really great girl on a different free dating site and I think I'm actually going to like this one! applause I've been out of the dating scene for years and need some advice!

Ill be 24 in a few weeks, she is 25, and the last time I went on an actual date in the initial stages of a possible relationship I was under 21. We both agree that we should do something where having a conversation is possible laugh so movies and really loud places are out. We both drink socially.. both like to play pool.. both like the outdoors but I want to do something public obviously since we haven't met yet so she can feel comfortable. Not sure if It would be appropriate to invite another couple I'm close friends with to come or if that's a bad Idea... I was thinking maybe some place like Dave and Busters where they have a restaurant and a bar and pool tables but it's not a real bar atmosphere? What is appropriate and what isn't for a first date? Since we met online it's different and I'm not sure what to do at all, help! =oP

Ideas on where to go, if I should pick her up or if I should meet her there so she can feel comfortable knowing she can leave if it doesn't go well.. any advice you can give me about it would help a lot! We are planning on doing it this Wed since we both have goofy schedules, so remembering the fact that I am completely hopeless at this after being in a relationship for 2 years and not dating for a year after that.. even the smallest detail would help!

Thank you all alot!

RE: Israel: Partner for Peace or Quest for Global Domination

RE: To those that are anti-Firearms ownership...

Most of the guns the Cartels are using are coming from the USA.

Ref:
Ref:http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gun_politics#cite_note-Dallas_Morning_News-31

I agree we should have the right to bear arms, guns are as American as Apple Pie, but blaming Mexico's gun politics is just as flawed of an argument as blaming the US for having gun rights. The basis of the argument then becomes modus ponens, a common logical fallacy erg: "there are strict gun laws in Mexico therefore there is violence", due to our lack of gun control most of the guns originate here, therefore it can be just as easily argued that our leniency is to blame. 7,500 seized cartel weapons were submitted to the ATF by Mexico's Federales for tracing and around 90% originated in the USA. (Texas, Arizona and California primarily).

The problem is there are many European countries with stricter gun laws than Mexico who have a much lower violent crime rate by population than either the USA or Mexico. Many people use this as a basis for making our gun laws stricter, which is also using what is called Affirming the Consequent, another logical fallacy.

The point is, gun laws are largely uncorrelated with the rate of violent crime when taken from a world perspective. Which is really the best argument one can use for keeping our current right to bear arms.

Mexico is more a case of widespread political and judicial corruption and the ineffective use of Mexican military as a policing force. The DTO's (Drug Trafficking Organizations) have virtually unlimited resources and don't follow any laws, on the other hand the Mexican Government is lacking in resources and personnel, and the wide spread corruption is allowing seized weapons to re-enter circulation.

So as you see it's not as simple as saying "If both sides had availability to the guns to begin with this would never have happened!!"... The DTO's simply have more money for bigger guns either way, and the majority of honest Mexican citizens effected by the drug war are too poor to afford a .50 cal military grade sniper rifle, or a bunch of AR-15's.

Contrary to popular belief our "right to bear arms" really translates into our right to freedom from oppression or abuses by our government. It wasn't written into the constitution with the actual intention of every John Hancock living in the USA owning a fully automatic, military grade arsenal, and every time there was a disagreement we ought to just shoot it out!

RE: How about a Caribbean Forum?

How about a few hundred plane tickets so we can all join you in picketing! =o)

RE: has anyone here have actually dated someone from this site?

Yes, 3 different ladies. None worked out due to either distance of just difference in personality / maturity. But I am talking to another currently whom I think very highly of so far!

My mother and her co-worker were in the local paper today!

Mom's got terminal cancer, one of the veterinarians at her work is running the Boston Marathon and raising money for the Dana Farber Cancer Foundation in her name. People can be so generous. Realize what you truly have in life, what is important and what is not, because before you know it the most important things can dissapear.

What seperates the men from the boys? The girls from the women?

Interesting, I just would feel a bit silly calling myself a "man", I don't know why.. although when people who seem to look my age call me sir (come to find out they are 18 or younger), it's an interesting concept.. I suppose I'm just not used to it!

RE: Too overweight to date?

Sorry if I was a bit unclear! OP was asking essentially about what the weight difference limit for people is, what they consider to be to "over weight" to date.

I was simply stating that in my case it's not the weight itself that turns me away from certain women, its just that the lifestyle I lead as a mountain climber, kayaker, rafter, long distance hiker etc... is something I would like to share with my partner, and someone either too scrawny or too overweight would not be able to do these things with me. Hence the weight is not the care, it's the issue of having common interests, which cannot be shared as a result of the weight or lack of!

Hope that cleared it up for yas =oP

What seperates the men from the boys? The girls from the women?

I've read several ladies profiles over the years on here and seen many ladies under 21 call themselves "women". This I have no quarrels with! It simply got me thinking what the criteria actually are that separate a boy from a man, and a girl from a woman. In essence, what, in your opinion.. makes a man or a women?

I'm 23, edging on 24 and have experienced more than most people have twice my age. I have worked since I was 13 and paid a mortgage before I was even old enough to drink. I've taken care of a girlfriend and her tuition, my tuition, bills and all that jazz for a long time. Does this make me a man anymore than someone my age who hasn't had these experiences? Is it responsibility, experience, knowledge, wisdom... combination? And what for women?

RE: Too overweight to date?

Too legit? Too legit to quit?

rolling on the floor laughing

Looks like this a question for the ladies.. but I myself am not a chubby chaser as they say! I'm attracted to fit women usually, just because my hobbies and things I enjoy doing require you to be in pretty good shape, so it's more of a compatibility thing than having an issue purely with "weight". Again, most of the skinny girls are also very weak.. so its just as bad as being overweight! I don't necessarily mind if she can't share my hobbies with me but it is a big part of who I am so that's my reason.. and I think its pretty legit!

RE: Can cuddling be just friendly?

Of course it can be friendly! I do that all the time with one of my closest female friends whom I've known for a very very long time.

I would put one condition in there though, if either person were in a relationship it would probably be in the best interest of the relationship not to be spooning other ladies rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing rolling on the floor laughing

RE: 2012 ??? -- Dates In Persepctive

First off let me state that I don't believe the world will expire according to the Mayan calendar, nor do I believe in santa or the tooth fairy.. but I do have a tremendous amount of respect and awe in regards to how advanced the Mayas were in astronomy and mathematics, which is why this subject has always been interesting to me.

I recently saw a television program about a (supposedly) recently (1995) discovered Mayan sun god statue on Juan Fernandez Island, some 400 miles off the coast of Chile. The interesting things about this are that the final total solar eclipse on the Mayan calendar will occur in the year 2012, fall on a Baktun (Mayan religious holiday that occurs every so often), and will be visible from the peak of this statue (that is twice the size of the sphynx)at 1deg above the horizon.

For those of you not fluent with astronomy, a solar eclipse of this kind leaves 2 shadows on the earth. One is rather wide but will only dampen the sunlight a small bit and is called the Penumbra, the second is a very dark inner shadow that only covers about 1% of the Earths surface. The Umbra will be visible from the flat peak of this statue and (allegedly) will be the only piece of land that the Umbra will be visible from.

The second interesting thing is that the rarest visible event in our solar system (The transit of Venus between the earth and the sun)will also occur in the year 2012, on a Baktun and be visible from the peak of this statue.

Unfortunately it was the History channel so as usual they give no evidence for this being true other than the word of the man who happened to "stumble apon it". This man is also an expert in the Maya. There were no other Mayan experts brought along to verify on the TV expedition other than the man who found it. Asides from the fact that the Mayan could have easily navigated by the stars to get from point A to point B, I don't see how they could travel 400 miles across extremely rough ocean with dugout boats with enough supplies to sustain themselves while they constructed something so large, on an island they had no way of knowing existed originally... None-the-less it is very interesting for those of you who enjoy the Mayan calendar stuff! I believe they nick named the island "Apocalypse Island", feel free to Google it and read up if you'd like!

See you all again on this thread on December 22 2012! tongue

RE: AM I BEING PARANOID?

She didn't hear the first ring, or the relatively annoying alert telling her she had a missed call (with the phone in her pocket for an hour). After the hour, again you call, still she doesn't hear it due to her apparently sound proof pocket. 5 Minutes passes and you call from a private number and suddenly she hears it and answers.

I would be suspicious for two reasons... The fact it concerns you tells me that you feel there is some reason to be concerned.. Also there is the fact that in the period of one hour her phone rang twice and beeped or vibrated once every 5 minutes since the 1st missed call, so you have 65 minutes divided by 5 + the two actual calls. This means her phone alerted her a total of 15 times if she really hadn't looked at it or noticed it. One phone call from the private number and immediately she answers. From a nerdy statistical standpoint 15 : 1 is bad odds, so chances are she lied.

HOWEVER =o) no matter the odds of any given event happening, with time those odds increase to 100%. Meaning what she told you was bound to happen at some point so she could very well be telling the truth! Quite the Conundrum huh? doh

Advice? Don't worry about it, either trust her or break up with her. If she's the lying type you'll find out eventually so just enjoy what it is while it is! I would believe her personally. Unless she had a history of doing things like that in which case id invite her sister over for wine and dinner!

Goodluck! devil

RE: Do u think being friends with an EX is right?

It depends, I have one Ex that I'd rather not speak to or run into, other than that the rest of em I hang out with or talk to often.

Once you're in a new relationship I don't think it really matters, if you spend a significant portion of your life with someone than it's asking a lot to just cut them out entirely. I didn't vote because it can go either way depending on the ex!

Can I Upload Audio from my CPU to here somehow?

Have a few covers I've done and would like to upload the MP3. any help?

Have any of you fellow Georgians met someone through CS? =o)

Well since posting that I've met 2 people, one hasn't worked out because of logistics really.. lived a bit too far away, and the second one I'm talking with right now, met in person and hit it off pretty well and there's someone else who is moving here shortly so maybe my luck is changing eh? hug 2Radiant, you seem like a nice girl, you'd think the ladies would have a bit more luck than us guys. I'd love to talk to ya if you'd be interested!

Do you consider yourself a person who is always seeking to learn new things?
