I had an alcoholic live with with me for a few years. His kids lived out of state and were afraid to be aroud him, if I was not here. I was the one who went and got them, provided for them while they were here. Hr just stayed drunk! It is sad but true, his oldest son died in a car wreck and his youngest son never wanted anything to do with him. I threw him out and I've heard to this day that his only remaining son was scared of his temper and has no contact.
I agree with this man....why leaving so soon. Sorry but did you think your perfect mate was just going to drop into you lap?
It takes patience and time and if you don't have that then maybe your right. If you want to make and meet friends from all over the world and perhaps your lady...stick around.
And you give a lot of love! Yes I have worked the 12 steps but on another addiction called food. My sponsor made me attend so many AA meetings. I at that time lived in a larger city(Columbus OH) where you could go anywhere with in a few miles and find a meeting. I was the regional secretary at that time. I still enjoy going out and drinking and to be honest some might say that I have an addiction to it as well. You know we all choose to say no. I did not drink much before my divorce. I honestly think I have an addictive personality. And have stated that before on here. I do not do drugs. But I do over eat and I do drink so maybe that is a problem. But it has no ruled my life to this point.
Being how this is a free site and all I have no complaints. I know how to delete scammers messages and do just that.
I've been on paid sites where I never really made friends. But here if I never meet the man of my dreams....I am happy with the friends that I have found here. And their is nothing like the forums here on any other site I've been on. But that is just my experience.
Same thing here Michael but I have found and made great friends here. She might not be living in your same town or just a few mines away. Give it some time and enjoy the forums. You never know who you might find if you give it the chance.
