Yes I did and one that comes to mind was when I was in grade 7, I was probably 12 years old and I was watching one of our teachers as she was walking beside us and I remember another classmate saying to me "Don't look overboard" we had quite a laugh.
I wouldn’t exactly call this a hoax but I’d call it accurate and inaccurate information depending on your portable phone model and probably country. Make sure to try them out with your personal cell phone before counting on them in case of an emergency. I personally tried two of them (item 1 and item 4) and they both worked on my Nokia portable phone here in France where I’m visiting. I read (item 2) is just not possible.
Here's info I received today. It could come in handy. I didn't try it so I'm not sure if it works and if it does will that be worldwide or in certain countries only !!!
5 Things You Never Knew Your Cell Phone Could Do
For all the folks with cell phones. (This should be printed and kept in your car, purse, and wallet. Good information to have with you.)
There are a few things that can be done in times of grave emergencies.
Your mobile phone can actually be a life saver or an emergency tool for survival. Check out the things that you can do with it:
FIRST Emergency
The Emergency Number worldwide for Mobile is 112. If you find Yourself out of the coverage area of your mobile network and there is an Emergency, dial 112 and the mobile will search any existing network to Establish the emergency number for you, and interestingly, this number 112 can be dialed even if the keypad is locked. Try it out.
SECOND Have you locked your keys in the car?
Does your car have remote keyless entry? This may come in handy someday. Good reason to own a cell phone: If you lock your keys in the car and the spare keys are at home, call someone at home on their cell phone from your cell phone. Hold your cell phone about a foot from your car door and have the person at your home press the unlock button, holding it near the mobile phone on their end. Your car will unlock. Saves someone from having to drive your keys to you. Distance is no object. You could be hundreds of miles away, and if you can reach someone who has the other "remote" for your car, you can unlock the doors (or the trunk).
Editor's Note: "It works fine! We tried it out and it unlocked our car over a cell phone!"
THIRD Hidden Battery Power
Imagine your cell battery is very low. To activate, press the keys *3370#. Your cell phone will restart with this reserve and the instrument will show a 50% increase in battery. This reserve will get charged when you charge your cell phone next time.
FOURTH How to disable a STOLEN mobile phone?
To check your Mobile phone's serial number, key in the following Digits on your phone:*#06#. A 15-digit code will appear on the screen. This number is unique to your handset. Write it down and keep it somewhere safe.
If your phone gets stolen, you can phone your service provider and give them this code. They will then be able to block your handset so even if the thief changes the SIM card, your phone will be totally useless. You probably won't get your phone back, but at least you know that whoever stole it can't use/sell it either. If everybody does this, there would be no point in people stealing mobile phones.
And Finally.....
FIFTH Free Directory Service for Cells
Cell phone companies are charging us $1.00 to $1.75 or more for 411 information calls when they don't have to. Most of us do not carry a telephone directory in our vehicle, which makes this situation even more of a problem. When you need to use the 411 information option, simply dial: (800)FREE411, or (800) 373-3411 without incurring any charge at all. Program this into your cell phone now.
Onlyguy: I could be wrong but did you mean advice?
I'm not a teacher but that does depend on what was discussed and then your common sense comes into play.
Yes I agree with you but to a certain point. If you read and understood my post you'll notice I said it depends on what was discussed (who are we to insinuate anything if we don't know what was discussed) and then from there it's up to the teacher to use his/her common sense as to deciding if it should be taken one step further and if so to who.
My post had absolutely nothing to do with being a student's buddy/pal and neither did it have anything to do with making students like their teacher though I see nothing wrong with this but then again it depends on the circumstances.
My post was very broad and general, it was based on the information given and I think one shouldn’t be too specific or jump to conclusions if one doesn't know what was discussed in the first place.
I’d say the Polar bear though the Kodiak bear is about the same size and they are the largest of bears. Females are half the size of the males so it all depends who’s fighting who. I do remember reading of a Grizzly bear killing a Polar bear but I don’t know if males or females were involved.
1: To avoid the truth 2: To sound like Mr./Mrs know it all. 3: To get the last word in an arguement. 4: To help someone out. 5: Not to look stupid. 6: Not able to be sincere/honest. 7: By habit. 8: Etc, etc, etc...
I've often asked people if they speak English or if they speak French and many have asked me if I spoke a certain language but I never ran into the same problem you did or should I say got an answer like you did. Like one mentioned if you asked me if I'm English then I'd answer no I'm Canadian.
I agree with what you're saying and I could add this, in my case my e-mail box and messages would always be open to my partner to read and enjoy; I'd make sure this was well understood and I'd encourage her to look.
I agree with you and said it wasn’t ok, you’ll also notice in my first post (yesterday) I said they were both at fault and should sit down and do some serious discussing. What I’m saying now is most people living an unstable, uncertain, and doubtful relationship like he seems to be living would have done exactly what he did, that’s called human nature.
Whatever you do don't ever send your wife's e-mail to someone, be wise and keep it for yourself. You don't have to prove anything to anyone and especially not on a dating site.
As far as reading your wife’s open e-mail and others if her e-mail box was open don’t worry about it. You’re a very normal human being and no matter what people say here 90% not to say 99% of men and women would have done the same thing if they were in an unstable, uncertain and doubtful relationship like the one you seem to be living. I’m not saying it’s ok, I’m just saying most people would have done the same thing so don’t lose any sleep over it.
I just googled it and there are 78 countries that celebrate Mother’s Day on the second Sunday of May, that’s quite impressive and that amounts to a lot of mothers
