I read your other thread, its good that things are looking up for you. Don't rush in to things babygirl and stay safe. I refer to staying safe in the online world. sometimes I think it may be more dangerous than Iraq. Stay safe in both places.
Vonney, I'm not ignoring your last post. I am not 100% familiar with this one day stoppage issue. To be honest, if you gat an odd day off work...................grab it by the throat.
Politicins run the country. Politicians are to blame. 100% fault lies with politicins. That is their job, they are not doing it correctly. If they are not fit, intelligent enough, capable of doing their job then then it is time for them to hang up their boots.
Bertie Ahern was costing the state €1,050.00 euro per week for make-up beauty treatment so he could look good for the cameras.
That is strange ruby, maybe you do not meet the conditions to recieve full payment. Did they means test you?
If you are single it should be €204 per week. There are conditions that affect payment, if you are in the wrong criteria you will get less than €204.
Pop into the Citizens Information center in Dublin City Centre. They are really good. They will help you. Ruby, seriously, they are well worth a visit. You may benefit. Here is a link to all the addresses of the Citizen Information branches:
I see your point vinny. I think people spend far too much of their lives working. We work all the time. When the country was going really well we worked many other jobs gathering as much financial gain as possible, now economics are bad but yet we still seek all work available.
Why does it take to make people happy? Are the Irish workaholics?
I think 30 hours per week is enough. Life is not all about money. People state we need money to give our families a better life but if you keep working away you won't even know your family cos you will have missed them growing up due to buy work schedules.
I sometimes wonder which is more important: To work hard and provide for our children or to spend as much time as possible with them offering them moral values and love.
But as you say vinny, it is not an ideal world and many different people require different things.
The economy is bad, politicians are to blame. Start there. There never was a boom in the economy. We were only catering for the flood of EU nationals in to Ireland. I am not saying bad things about the foreign nationals. I think some, not all, are wonderful people. But our boom was based on a false economy. Construction soared to accomodate these people with housing. My area is the same. 300 houses were built to accomodate these people. They now stand empty with about 33% of them leased. I know one thing, Co Councils will not be throwing planning permission out to many. These unused houses will have to catered for first. Our banks are in debt, thousands of houses are empty, no rent, no sales,. They have to get these houses sold. They cant sell them and won't sell them, our population is not big enough. It was all a false economy. There never was an Irish tiger or any of that nonsense. The media just drilled that into our heads. It was a false, non existing economy from the start, always was and always will be. JMO
Also Ruby, I see you're having trouble getting this symbol €€€€€€
its on the 4 key, right side.
I never knew how to get it either so I investigated with the google god.
The google God told me to depress and hold Alt Gr on the right hand side of your space bar and now press key number 4. Remember to keep Alt Gr held down, depressed.
Hi Vonney, No problem, you are NOT being argumentive, you are discussing an issue with me. Thank you for quoting me.
This is just my personal view Vonney, many will disagree but that is good. It's a debate.I feel it is enough to work 32 hour shift, 4 days per week, tues - fri . Exceptions...medical services.
You females work all the time, at home and at work. Here is what I think:
In our present day we live in a fast paced Government ideology. We adapt to society very quickly. What is the difference between having saturday and sunday [I know people work on those days, I am speaking broadly and generally] off work and having saturday, sunday and monday off?
Most people would say less pay. We need the money to feed our families.
I was always in favour of a 4 day week 32 hour shift- tueday to friday.
There are many benefits to not working Mondays:Less accidents on roads/work due to alcohol fuelled weekends, less traffic..good for the eco system. There are many more wonderful bonuses if you sit down and think really hard about it. But I want to get to this point. My main point.
Families will get to spend more time together. In our current society due to cost and expense of living most families have both parents working. This leaves our children spending more time with colleagues/friends or strangers. As a family we need to spend time together to bond. We need more free time together. When our children grow up we are all proud of them but lets be honest...Did WE actually rear them? Think about it. Do a one week survey and note all the family time together. Sleeping at night does not count, all members must be awake and functioning. You will find this to be a common finding: It will work out approximately: Mon to Fri- 22 hours Sat to Sun- 28 hours Total = 50 hours max 168 hours per week - healthy sleeping time [42 hours per week] =126 hours. 126 hours are available averagely for any families working a 40 hour week.
50 hours is approx 40% of available time. As a family we are only responsible for 40% of rearing/raising our kids. The rest is done by strangers. 60% on average of rearing/raising our kids is done outside of the family home. Its hardly an ideal situation, i'm sure you will agree.
If we worked a four day week that figure represents as follows.
we now have jumped to 64 hours per week. That is approx 51.5%. That is much better, as parents we are now the predominant influencing factor in our kids lives. That is good.
This post is for the family unit. Them and only them. I uderstand that families break up and get seperated, it is a pity but my post is for the existing stereotypical family unit.
My views would vary, but not by much, for all others outide of the family unit.

I tend to sleep it off. Things make more sense when our brain is fully charged and it leaves it easier on others around me.I tend to not dwell or moan about things. I tend to get some rest in preparation for dealing with the issue. It makes it easier on me and my immediate contacts. JMO.
That is fine but i feel you are nit picking at words here.
I am really struggling to understand you. Maybe through more debates and over time. Yes?
Have you ever decided to try writing a novel/book. Thoughtful, creative people make good novelists..
Not at all.
Well lets be honest, not all you posts were on topic, there was a few where you were speakng to others, general chit chat, not strictly on topic. But that is good. I like to see friendly people enjoying themselves and having fun.
Its against the rules of C to attack someone. We all know that. CS are clear on that rul.
Maybe, I do not know sommerauer71, it may be possible. I am not an optician. Maybe they do it in Austria too? Maybe? Who knows!
Is there some of you post missing...? What misery are you in. I will try to help if I can. I cant promise that I will help you successfully but allow me to at least try.
I have answered all your posts. Everyone that views this thread can see that. I think I have replied to you over a dozen times. What are you stating that I'm advoiding. i am unclear. Thank you.
The receptionist was just speaking out generally, she did not allow me to view the computer. Woyuld you be surprised if i said that there are probably people in Englan who share the same birthdate and name. It would be quite common hen you consider the ratio of days per year to the ratio of poulation.
If you say so, fair enough.
You do realize now that you have asked me twice do I want to see it. Honestly, I'm not interested.
It has nothing to do with me. I do not own CS. I do not know the staff of CS and i do not know any moderators. I will be posting "No comment" to any posts regarding this.
Let me get this straight. A short time ago you posted that you thought I was someone that was banned and now i am somebody that tells CS what to do?
I cannot understand you. You're a good person but I cant make head nor tail out of you.
You say one thing and then immediately contradict yourself. I am not here to attack or make personal insults but seriously I can't understand you.No hard feelings. Yes?
It does happen kitty, unfortunately so, but remember kitty there is also the flip side of the coin. Many people meet online and have successful relationships that proceed to marriage and having a family of their own. There is pro's and con's everywhere. There is positive's and negative's with everything. But stay positive. If you need any advice on online safety then please read the warnings here on site or mail me diectly and I will post you to a plethora of online safety advice.
Again, I must state that you will only meet a true predator once, he/she wont blow their cover because they will murder you. You will not live to testify as to who he/she was.
But not all people on the net are predators. There are many many genuine people on here and on the net in general. Dont give up hope kitty, but be cautious. Be safe. I hope you do meet somebody nice. i wish you well in your search.
