RE: Do you think nice guys finish first any more?

First? Hmm. What means you? It's not only where you finish, but how you run the race.

RE: when is this "the world owes me" mentality going to end?

Well, at least we both a agree that it's a mess, starts in the home and ends there, and is messed with on many levels by the government.
Badminton Anyone? wine

RE: Obama Rocks! Today! the most serious attempt against more wars!

And the beat goes on...help

RE: when is this "the world owes me" mentality going to end?

Well, I mentioned liability as an afterthought, really. KNOWING that they are liable would force the issue for them taking direct and immediate action to bring the situation under control, if not, then they would under such constraints be forced to adhere to policy and expel the student. Theoretically.conversing

RE: when is this "the world owes me" mentality going to end?

Yes, our government is involved with way too much and has been for years. I would say that the school in this case would be liable for any damage done to other students during such violence, but of course that sounds too "real" and truthful an assumption; and in our society today I can only guess now that that would be the actual case.confused

RE: when is this "the world owes me" mentality going to end?

So many that the there are no more beads left on the abacus--nothing is adding up.

RE: when is this "the world owes me" mentality going to end?

Had the same problem with a grandson of my first wife, he had ADD and caused a lot of problems in his classes when not on his meds.

The school should take action with the parents in this case, but a tough problem all the way around for solving if the ADD child remains uncooperative.

RE: No Man Can Serve 2 Masters.

Christianity is one of youngest religions on earth. Read your history. Love was around a long tome before it in many other religions and in people itself.doh

RE: when is this "the world owes me" mentality going to end?

I really believe that the basics of humanity are formed from the family unit, or go astray with same. Kids acting up in school are examples of this, and this reflects back on the parent(s) and the methods/discipline in their upbringing. The schools should not be required to be parents, but to act as a bridge in reporting the misbehavior back to responsible parents for disciplining. Unfortunately, it's a Catch-22 if the parent(s) don't care, a vicious cycle.

RE: when is this "the world owes me" mentality going to end?

Unfortunately (in many cases) the HOW starts in the home long before the supposed WHAT kicks in elsewhere.

RE: when is this "the world owes me" mentality going to end?

I believe it will end when they stop showing Laverne and Shirley re-runs....applause

RE: No Man Can Serve 2 Masters.

Love was invented a long tome before the Christians, and will survive them.

Nice thread Yurima...handshake

RE: Why are we alone

Why among the crowd here, or in general? Some I feel treat this
"environment" too much like a store where one shops. In fact the profiles are set up that way. Love becomes an abstract of so many other things, but when one loses sight of what the heart knows it is for what the mind thinks it is, then that is probably a big clue as why some remain and some go on. YMMV.cool conversing

RE: Intolerance!!

Spanish Inquisition: in part accounted for nearly 1,000,000 souls; hmmm, then there was the eradication of the Aztecs, Mayans and Incans, The Crusades (hah, how about the poor Children's Crusade, arrgh), assassinations, rapes, power mongering, the blessing of bombs and bullets to KILL the enemy in WW1 & II, and the list goes on, like a funeral dirge...

Ans that's just the "Christian" religions...roll eyes
