Your desire for peace is spot on but I think your analysis of why there isn't peace is flawed. The Palestinians seem to hate Israel so much they can't stop themselves from attacking them, even though it's they themselves that suffer most when they do. There will only be peace and a Palestinian state when the threat to Israeli security is gone, unfortunately that doesn't look like happening.
Imagine if northern protestants were firing thousands of rockets per year over the border at us, would anyone be complaining if we boarded a ship that was on it's way here to check if they had any weapons on it?
Exactly. All they are doing is trying to survive. The Palestinians spent years trying to get Israel to withdraw from Gaza. When they eventualy did what did the Palestinians do? they started firing rockets into Israel from Gaza. What are you to do when someone wants to destroy you?
I believe you've got it wrong. The scource of the problem is that Israel's enemies want to wipe it out. Given that situation the Israeli's often go too far and behave badly, like they've done now. No solution is possible until Israel's enemies accept their right to exist, which doesn't seem likely.
