Ah, that was way back in the dark days of our socialist past! (hehe just joking, communists can't change the weather as yet )
Jokes apart, you must have really encountered a one in a million rainy winter mate. We do get rainy days in winter of course, but it rarely rains for a whole day continuously, let alone a whole month.
A couple of years ago was such an exception, but I can't remember any other winters like that over here.
Difficult to argue with that point mate. It's up to the people taking residence in a foreign country to adapt to local customs, not the other way round.
Richard Dawkins is simply using the same arguments that christians do when shoving their religion down our throats. They are not afraid of being condescending towards atheists, so why should we?
After all, to most atheists, religious people are living in a fantasy bubble that will sadly burst for them when they die and discover there's no afterlife. Dawkins is just calling a spade a spade, and not worrying about appearing politically correct 'nice' about it.
London is certainly different from Malta for sure. Having said that, I enjoy London as a holiday destination, but would certainly not enjoy living there permanently. Too hectic for my tastes.
I can relate to that too. I'm of British descent (2nd generation) but have been born and lived in Malta all my life. My mentality and outlook is certainly different from most locals'.
Strange as it may seem, I tend to feel 'foreign' amongst Maltese, and 'Maltese' amongst foreigners.
This is the problem. We spend way too much time deciphering each other through genders. How do men think? How do woman think? It's all rubbish. We should approach each person as an individual, gender aside and assess them on their character and not by the dangly bits..or lack of..between the legs.
Maybe I'm misinterpreting her post here, but that's the way I've understood it, that according to her, gender does not play a part at all.
The points she raised in other posts are all valid mind, but I disagreed with this one (if she intended it in the way I'm understanding it that is).
That is what I've been asking him all along, plus I see that so far he's also avoided my new thread (by the way, I tried to answer your questions there, but not sure I came up with the right answers, lol).
She plainly said that it is not an issue of gender.
While personalities differ from individual to individual, I think gender does bear a big importance in the way we approach things.
This is not meant as an attack on women, but women often have the tendency of pointing out the differences as to how the genders behave when it's to their advantage, and playing 'dumb' when it's not convenient. You can't really have it both ways can you?
Ah, I thought you meant drisslk since he started this whole dna offshoot. Still waiting for him to explain to us poor unbelievers how a dna molecule proves the existence of 'god'.
Ok, but I ask you ONCE more, what has all this got to do with proving that a god exists? Can you answer this instead of beating around the bush as always?
So you're saying that men and women don't approach problems in different ways? Not wanting to start an argument here, but have you lived on planet earth lately?
It could also be a case of 'voluntary deafness' when the wife starts yammering constantly, and the male's body goes into spasms that cause him to say 'yes dear' over and over.
Honestly, I can't see which LOVING parent wouldn't be ready to sacrifice his/her life and health for one of their children. You see it happen in the animal kingdom, let alone expecting to see it amongst humans.
Well Sample, since you came up with a stupid question, let me put a similar one to you.
Since in another thread you mentioned that you were raised to believe in the 'cowards live, heroes die' point of view, I guess you'd be one of those who would let his child die to save his skin?
