I have belonged there on and off for quite awhile and it's cliqueish... the mods can be a little arbitrary...if they like you your're fine. Otherwise the "warnings" can be kinda nasty depending on who it is. There are one or 2 of the mods who are awesome.
Other than that, met some fine folk there. Most of the crew I hung with is no longer there so I pop in now and then but don't usually stay or post much That;s the skinny from me
true, I have lived here (USA) all my life and slightly less than half of that time in an urban/suburban environment and I have had no exposure to handguns. So they are not on "every street corner."
The origin of this right is rooted in freedom from tyranny. Our ancestors came here, mostly from Europe where tyrants ruled and our forefathers came here to escape them and gave citizens the right to bear arms to insure protection from tyranny, and a tyrannical government because we do not want that sort to gain roots and grow on our soil. And to make it easy to quickly form militia in defense from tyranny. At least that was the thinking at the time....
to me it still holds true. But to keep tyranny out we need an educated and active population.....
are you sure you're old enough to have a mid life crisis?
I think of "midlife crisis" as any time after birth and before death that you doubt where life has lead you up to this point and you start to question whether the path you are on is the one you want to continue down.
I don;t think anyone is asking for Americans to give up their personal firearms ownership rights. We have a right to bear arms that is protected, but there is nothing wrong with asking for reasonable controls and protections.
I am not really sure if it would depend on a partner. I interpreted it to mean a person;s nature independent of what their partner is like. Although I supposed a partner could be influential in the long term.
