Hello everyone--I have belonged to another site, an actual dating site, which has a category accommodating what I'm looking for. Don't remember if it's OK to mention it here, I'll try, but if I get suspended or something, love you all!! It's called Mingle, and there are a few variations, such as Mingle2. My question is, what do you think of this? Is it good, bad, lukewarm, etc...? Do you mind participating in this and telling me what you think? (I have met two people so far through it, and one's in the toaster oven--nothing "bad" has occurred so far...)

Hi Robert,
Never heard of that one. Was on POF, and Christian Singles though.
Never heard of it but I just accessed the site. I don't trust free sites that will not allow you to search without asking me to sign up. What's the rush for my vital info if everything is free?

as smart as I am, it took your post to make me wake up and smell the coffee--why, indeed, do sites want all that info if everything is "free"? You make an excellent point.
Draegoneer: I've been at POF for years. Scary profile so either truly sincere or exceptionally crazy only, MIGHT bother a little.
Other than that; there's Twoo and...and THIS site. I guess I'll never be good at this virtual stuff much. I don't even try.
Good luck to you rohaan.
I had a TERRIBLE experience with--(I'm not sure if it's chill to say their company name here--but you can guess...) Here's what happened: I joined, and waited the two or three day probation before being able to post on their forums. I was just being myself, talking and jiving with other members, and BAM--I get this narly huge red exclamation mark directing me to go to my in-box for a message from the "Mod" of the day, or whatever. He raked me over the coals, demanding to know why I was writing in the forums so casually, and didn't I know there were parameters and such....Now, I couldn't see where I had done anything wrong, no cussin' or fussin', just being chillax with the troops and so on. I tried to defend myself and explain, and this guy just kept getting nastier and nastier, saying he thought I was drunk or something, I couldn't believe it. I asked him a few more times to be specific, explained I don't drink, I was just trying to be friendly and join the chatting, etc...but he just was a nasty booger and wouldn't tell me or write any further after trashing me. Well, I sent a "I quit" form, and the managers wrote and asked me why, so I just told them a little of it and said I needed to be able to communicate with folks casually and not walk on eggshells--they asked me to reconsider and stay, but I didn't. 'Poof' on them.--if you get my drift. What a bunch of dickwads.

You're pretty naive if you don't know the answer to that question. Think $$$. You and your info is a commodity. Just like the more members a site can claim the more they can charge for ads.

I have belonged there on and off for quite awhile and it's cliqueish... the mods can be a little arbitrary...if they like you your're fine. Otherwise the "warnings" can be kinda nasty depending on who it is. There are one or 2 of the mods who are awesome.
Other than that, met some fine folk there. Most of the crew I hung with is no longer there so I pop in now and then but don't usually stay or post much That;s the skinny from me

If you´re not sure it´s best to keep your trap shut.
