RE: TRUE GRIT.

I think it was the style for the time. I like German silent movies but they always way over acted too. It's the same with Bollywood comedies, they go way over the top usually.

I'll admit though Glen Campbell was not very good.

RE: People who wear glasses or used to wear .....

I'll pass. I don't like taking risks that large.

RE: TRUE GRIT.

I like the old one too much. Happy memories of watching it with my Dad and my brothers on a rainy afternoon when I was little.

very happy

RE: Women Who Control in Bed

Some guys love having the woman in control. Some women like to be in control, some don't.

Hey whatever works for the people involved.

How hot do you like your chili?

I've had that happen too.

When I sampled this batch I thought it was too cool until the heat hit a few seconds later.

I lost my breath for a few seconds after a big bite.

laugh

We had the last of this batch tonight. I may have to make more soon.

RE: Affordable health care plan of Obama supports less fortuned America!

The US is no longer set up for people that earn money. It is set up for those that inherited money. In Northern New England we have tons of people that moved here from down country with full pockets that decided they knew more about how our towns should be run than the locals. Spending went through the roof, mainly to benefit the wants, not needs, of the new residents.

I would love to know the percentage of these farmers that never set foot on a farm have Obama bumper stickers on their BMWs.

How hot do you like your chili?

Dunc dropped off chili for our parents and some for our friend David on his way home last night.

David said it had good flavor and he liked the way the heat sneaks up on you.

Dad claimed it made my mother spontaneously combust.

How hot do you like your chili?

Yes but she likes her chili mild.

RE: Affordable health care plan of Obama supports less fortuned America!

Then only with agriculture subsidies for city dwelling farmers that may not even produce a crop.

The largest annual subsidy, called direct and countercyclical payments, is given to farmers regardless of what crops they grow — or whether they grow anything at all. The Post found that, since 2001, at least $1.3 billion was paid to landowners who had planted nothing since 2000. Among the beneficiaries were homeowners in new developments whose backyards used to be rice fields.

RE: What do you think is the biggest mistake that men/women make in their relationships?

I thought you said incontinence at first.

Sort of makes incoherence not look so bad when you think about it.

RE: What do you think is the biggest mistake that men/women make in their relationships?

I think most of us have done that. With me it was a person who had some serious damage and thought some really twisted things were OK.

RE: What do you think is the biggest mistake that men/women make in their relationships?

Getting into the relationship for the sake of being in a relationship alone. You usually end up with a very wrong person and everyone loses.

CHECKMATE

RE: How Long is to Long??????????????

I don't know that the dating sites are the best place to look for anyone.

I bet if you and Chippewa go out together and just visit with people you may find there are more women who will be charmed by you than you might believe right now. Just be the real you and they will be impressed.

RE: Affordable health care plan of Obama supports less fortuned America!

Didn't China buy those already?

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

Believe whatever you want. I'm not getting baited into your stupid game. The simple fact I will not roll over on command for someone who attacks my belief system does not mean that I lack conviction to my beliefs.

There have been plenty of attack threads against Christianity and Islam on these threads that claimed to be self defense against people "shoving religion" down the OP's throat.

FYI, when you fire the first shot it is not self defense. It's an attack. Root through you friend's recent threads to see an example of that sort of thread.

My brother and his GF just arrived and they are much more interesting than you.

The rabbits who caused all the trouble
by James Thurber

Within the memory of the youngest child there was a family of rabbits who lived near a pack of wolves. The wolves announced that they did not like the way the rabbits were living. (The wolves were crazy about the way they themselves were living, because it was the only way to live.) One night several wolves were killed in an earthquake and this was blamed on the rabbits, for it is well known that rabbits pound on the ground with their hind legs and cause earthquakes. On another night one of the wolves was killed by a bolt of lightning and this was also blamed on the rabbits, for it is well known that lettuce-eaters cause lightning. The wolves threatened to civilize the rabbits if they didn't behave, and the rabbits decided to run away to a desert island. But the other animals, who lived at a great distance, shamed them saying, "You must stay where you are and be brave. This is no world for escapists. If the wolves attack you, we will come to your aid in all probability." So the rabbits continued to live near the wolves and one day there was a terrible flood which drowned a great many wolves. This was blamed on the rabbits, for it is well known that carrot-nibblers with long ears cause floods. The wolves descended on the rabbits, for their own good, and imprisoned them in a dark cave, for their own protection.
When nothing was heard about the rabbits for some weeks, the other animals demanded to know what had happened to them. The wolves replied that the rabbits had been eaten and since they had been eaten the affair was a purely internal matter. But the other animals warned that they might possibly unite against the wolves unless some reason was given for the destruction of the rabbits. So the wolves gave them one. "They were trying to escape," said the wolves, "and, as you know, this is no world for escapists."

Moral: Run, don't walk, to the nearest desert island.

Read through a few pages of her bigotry against Christianity and you get a good sense of who she is.

Bigoted statements are bigoted statements no matter how much one might wish to believe they are true to suit their own needs.

I'm under no obligation to post a photo here to satisfy anyone.

If you want me to post one send me a bank draft for my next five years wages ad we will talk.

Religion Under Stalin

Marx had clearly identified organized religion as a threat to the worker because the loyalty of individual workers should be to each other, not to a supreme being. As a result, Stalin took steps to limit the power of religion in the USSR. Churches and mosques were closed and converted into schools or movie theaters. Religious icons were melted down, and meetings were banned throughout the country. Religion was forced to go underground, in order to hide from the prying eyes of Stalin's police.

During 1959, The Dalai Lama went to China to speak with Chairman Mao Zedong. Mao told him, "Religion is poison. ... Tibet and Mongolia have both been poisoned by it."

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

Tell that to your prejudiced chum when she is trashing others who don't believe as she does.

Oh wait, I forgot, you agree with her so it's not bigotry.

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

Enjoy your fantasy world and your place in it then. I'm going to live in the real world for a while.

You know if you put the effort into it the real world can be a pretty cool place.

Maybe some of the 18 hour a day folks should give it a try sometime.

It is a requirement of my employment that I not make any public statements that could reflect on my work or my employer. To avoid problems I don't post photos and I change a few details in my profile to make myself less identifiable.

I like having the income and the feeling I am making a difference with what I do. Some may be satisfied to be unemployed and online 18 hours a day but it's just not for me.

If you want to cover my wages send the money then we'll talk about a photo.

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

Apparently she also has a "right" to trash believers. Read her first post in this thread, Do believers have a right to trash her too or is it a one way street?

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

If I claim I have perfect vision and throw away my glasses the words in the morning newspaper will be blurry. If I were to try to blame that on the printer others would be able to look at the page, see the crisp print and determine the truth.

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

That's what a few guys in the gay clubs in Colorado thought too.

I did do the drag king bit for Halloween one year.

I looked like an accountant according to several people.

dunno

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

You want an image to make fun of? Fine:

Find a picture of David Bowie from the Ziggy Stardust days. Make him a little taller, smaller hips, slightly more chest, longer hair and add wire rim glasses. It will be alarmingly close.

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

OK went overboard pointing out her weight problem. I was cruel to do that.

However, that does not change the fact she responded to the opening post in this thread with a bigoted, hateful statement that amounted to these people deserve to die.

For whatever reason she has a problem dealing with Christians. She justifies it by cherry-picking past events and the actions of other bigots.

Why is an Atheist bigot any better than a Christian bigot?

Sadly though some forms of bigotry are more acceptable. Rage and hatred towards Christians and Muslims is rampant on this site and almost never dealt with by the site owners. Bigoted "jokes" against Pakistani, Hindu and Sikh people are acceptable when they would be pulled, justifiably, were they about a Black, Hispanic or Asian person.

Again, why is one form of bigotry acceptable and not another?

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

Do you mean that they are justified or that people use them for justification?

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

Apparently Trish does not agree that we need to tolerate others.

Is there a different set of rules for some of us?

RE: Global Pandemic.....,1 Million dead since 2001,-and the killing continues...

You're a good friend to come when she calls you to help. I hope she appreciates you for that.

I notice that you did not address her bigotry though.

Do you accept that she is prejudiced or did she not request you play knight in shining armor on that one?
