The term caliphate "dominion of a caliph ('successor,')," (from the Arabic ????? or khilafa, Turkish: Halife ) refers to the first system of government established in Islam, and represented the political unity of the Muslim Ummah (nation). In theory, it is a constitutional republic (see Constitution of Medina), which means that the head of state, the Caliph, and other officials are representatives of the people and must govern according to an existing constitutional law that limits the government's power over citizens. It was initially led by Muhammad's disciples as a continuation of the political system the prophet established, known as the 'rashidun caliphates'. It represented the political unity, not the theological unity of Muslims as theology was a personal matter. A "caliphate" is also a state which implements such a governmental system. Sunni Islam stiplulates that the head of state, the caliph, should be selected by Shura – elected by Muslims or their representatives. Followers of Shia Islam believe the caliph should be an imam descended in a line from the Ahl al-Bayt. After the Rashidun period until 1924, caliphates, sometimes two at a single time, real and illusory, were ruled by dynasties. The first dynasty was the Umayyad. This was followed by the Abbasid, the Fatimid, and finally the Ottoman Dynasty. The caliphate was "the core political concept of Sunni Islam, by the consensus of the Muslim majority in the early centuries.
And if you read Aladdin you will see the Caliph of Bahgdad...
Ah but it did look at a photo of the streets in your area in the 50's and look now ...All the folk now have cars, TV'S Phones and the list goes on and on they never had it then ....Oh it existed but no working man could afford it ....We can now....
Fact True not opinion...
Oh and in those days we had FULL EMPLOYMENT....Not now due to the Culling of the industrial jobs by the Investment Managers ...Mainly all under 50..... And the reliance on the City since the 90's Hedge Fund managers all mainly under 40 and look what they did....Sort of blows your argument
So true Fred an expert in FLUX Capacitors.....Pure Science Fiction, much the same as your posts...and by the way YOU TUBE IS PLAYING UP at the moment. But it will work.....
The tourist trade and all the rest will benefit from the influx of folk who will follow much the same as happened when Kennedy visited back in the 60's.
Prior to all the sad troubles in the 70's Ireland had many tourists from England,Scotland and Wales but this stopped.
Now it would greatly benefit Ireland to get it back.
That is the problem Swiss, they would have no compunction in doing exactly that.....Hence the need for worldwide vigilance...And a zero tolerance toward Nuclear facilities in certain countries....
Why do you think the USA and the UK give so much cash to Pakistan???? only a thought.
So far wrong Fred Nice to see you scratching around trying to find out who Rosie is......I so does Conrad and a few others ......Sad Fred Sad.....Maybe your IT blocked access as well as YOU TUBE....
Sadly, Swiss that is the mindset of the folk concerned. There is no dicussing facts with these folk. They have been radicalised and in the main are happy to die and we cannot fathom that mindset.
The radical Mullahs and radical leaders have indoctrinated these folk for their own purposes and the fact that many are illiterate and do not ever read or understand the rest of the worlds religions. Due to the fact they are not allowed to listen to or read anything that is not Islamic shows what we are against.
SAD FACT THAT THE LESS EDUCATED AND POOR ARE OFTEN THE TARGETS FOR THESE SO CALLED LEADERS.
Posted 21 minutes ago Fred more Lies......God you are so Sad.....you cannot let it go. You accuse folk with NO PROOF.
Then you try all sorts to distract from that fact and your excuse for an apology followed by how many snide remarks.
Shows your mindset and the way you kept this thread off topic with this ruse is pretty good but Sad that you feel you need to LIE to do so....
Sad Fred just Sad...
As for Leigh, nothing it is still there.

It is 6 miles (10 km) southeast of Wigan, and 12 miles (19 km) west of Manchester. Leigh is situated on low lying land to the north west of Chat Moss. Historically a part of Lancashire, Leigh was originally the centre of a large ecclesiastical parish covering six vills or townships. When the three townships of Pennington, Westleigh and Bedford merged in 1875 forming the Leigh Local Board District, Leigh became the official name for the town although it had been applied to the area of Pennington and Westleigh around the parish church for many centuries. The town became an Urban District in 1894 when part of Atherton was added. In 1899 Leigh became a municipal borough. The first Town Hall was built in King Street and replaced by the present building in 1907. Originally an agricultural area noted for dairy farming, domestic spinning and weaving led to a considerable silk and, in the 20th century, cotton industry. Leigh also exploited the underlying coal measures particularly after the town was connected to the canals and railways. Leigh had an important engineering base. The legacy of Leigh's industrial past can be seen in the remaining red brick mills – some of which are listed buildings – although it is now a mainly residential town, with Edwardian and Victorian terraced housing packed around the town centre. Leigh's present-day economy is based largely on the retail sector.
