I agree about the illegal issue although, I feel "borders" are changing. We are all earthlings. and should be free to live wear our hearts take us. what burned my fuzz really was the o/p's suggestion that they are hugely responsible for murder and mayham in America.
thats sooo funny...Im english speaking, as a Can. kid I had french (quebeciox) pounded into my head, and now living here...so I speak kinda franglish ( but I do try)
See Dodge I just dont get that. I was looking at a 3 yr. process and I was married to an American (at the time) and I remember it was quite expensive. and really convoluted. I was shocked by this. Conversley, when I came to Mex. I arrived with $1,000 two suitcases and completly started over. I was working within 4 days, making money right away and all my paperwork was processed within 6 weeks for my fm3. In fact I was able to get my passport here within 3 weeks here whereas it was taking months in Can. at the time.
Try crossing the border into America with a dwi or any other federal offence. Personally I think thats how it should be. But our fishing/gaming legislation is some of the toughest in the world...I also think that it should be. I did tell you the Can. Gov. is greedy.
Noooo its people getting away with something for far to long. Sure money helps, but for the most part the Mex. Gov. doesnt want to deal with the hassle. Mordita makes the world go round down here...no harm...no foul.
Those are environmental laws that govern fishing/gaming and thank goodness we have them. Illegal immigration is NOT the huge problem it is in America. Believe me, if you breathe? the Gov. wants money for it. Once again you are not helping your cause at all
You are sooooo wrong!I know many many peeps that have lived here illegally for 20-30 yrs. As I said, I dont agree with that either. I dont know where you get your information. When was the last time you lived in Mex. Or any other country for that matter.
I do and I can tell you the process for immigration let alone a green card is ridiculously long complex and expensive. I just think if your gov. simplified, created eager new citizens and taxed the crap out of them you would be much farther ahead. It would also make it that much harder for illegals to take advantage.
I dont think anyone should live in ANY country illegally. I live here and I pay my taxes to the country I live in.
You would be shocked to know how many ex-pats live here illegally. I dont agree with that either.
However, I do think that given the chance most immigrants would choose the legal way.
Maybe your Gov. should be more on the ball in terms of creating fair immigration policies. This would also help enormously weeding the illegals out. But, intolerance is never the answer. It only creates worse problems.
I completely aggree with that...but blaming them for murder or shooting them surely isnt the answer. Doesnt it make you question just why the gov. hasnt done more to make them legal and create that tax base? As an objective observer I do. I urge all people living in Canada or America to remember thier roots, and remember why our ancestors endured what they did to found our countries. Perhaps if we did that compassion would lead us to the right answers.
Im sorry to hear that, it wouldnt happen in Canada the gov. is far to greedy. We are of the same mind on LEGAL immigration as I stated in my earlier posts.
As we move into the age of a global village this is going to be a predominant issue. Lets deal with it humanely.
You must agree both our countries were founded by people from far away countries looking for a better life.
Understand, the O/P is blaming illegal immigrants For the murder and mayham going on in America. That is utterly ridiculous! thats what burns my fuzz.
No, in fact I havent. It must be another American expression. However, I can tell you that I have worked in a hospital, In the school system, and also for Immigration. I do know that there are reams of paperwork involved in any of these processes. Treatment, registration, etc. I dont imagine America is very different than Canada in THAT regard.
I can tell you that it is apparent that neither you nor the o/p have traveled much in this world.
I am an Ex-pat Canadian living in Mexico. I dont think you can get more minority than me. Im the only 5'11 redhead Ive ever seen here.
I would never consider living in a foriegn country illegally. Nor having my paperwork out of order. However, its a simple process here, not the grueling expensive process that it is in America.
I also recognise myself as a citizen of the planet. We live in a global village now, thats reality. Im all for anyone living anywhere they choose on earth LEGALLY especially if it is in the interests of a better life.
What I am NOT for is racial intolerance, discrimination, or lack of compassion.
