Just wondering, as I often do, what draws people to a hatred thread and leaves a positive one to die?doh

RE: The Gypsy King...

I have always found them so as well.

All the pictures I painted as a small child, were of the Gypsy lifestyle. Men with kerchiefs on their necks, and women with long flowing black hair, and colourful clothes, sitting or standing around campfires, with horses and wagons in the background, and nothing but a road winding to ancient hills, and mysterious things far away. There are a few of those paintings still in existance, to this day, in what was my Grandmothers house.

She has long gone now, and that lifestyle seems to have gone too, sadly, when farmers would let them camp on their land, and often give them food in return for colourful paper flowers, or fixing pots and pans with holes in them.

There was tolerance then and compassion.......and peace.hug

RE: The Gypsy King...

Good post. Hi Patwave

RE: The Gypsy King...

That's not who she is refering to.

No one mentioned Irish travellers but me, and I gave them their proper title, but added the word "Gypsy" for those who only know "Roma", "Gypsy", or "Romani", the name by which eastern European travelling people are called, in their own countries.

You'd really have to read all the posts, in both the threads, to catch up on what we are talking about.wine

RE: The Gypsy King...

I lived on a housing estate here, where there were 14 houses, 11 of them housed travellers (Gypsies). We got on fantastically well and every year we would fill the estate, and the fronts of the houses with flowers.

All went well for 4 years, when we had trouble. A very troublesome neighbour wrecked the peace there for everyone. She and her kids trashed the estate every chance they got. Destroyed things, got drunk, and played loud music into the night. Her sons stole from people, and threatened neighbours.

She was a regular, white, local woman, no affiliation to Gypsies at all genetically, but condemned them every chance she got.

She is still wreaking havoc there to this day, while the Gypsy families try to find a measure of peace and keep the place clean.

Boban, you have always been a breath of fresh air on these forums. I have a huge amount of respect for you, and your views, and how you conduct yourself on here. Unlike some of our biased contributors, you have always been respectufl and kind.

I'm really glad I got to know you.wine hug bouquet

RE: The never ending gypsy plague...

We are in a world depression. Countless millions of people worldwide live in poverty. Many of them steal and live in less than habitable places because they are poor and no one understands them.

Some people, nothing to do with Gypsies, choose to live that way. Street people, druggies, alcoholics, and of course, criminals of all sorts, and all races, in all countries.

Social welfare is strained in most countries, if they have it at all. It is not your money that keeps the poor living. What you pay in tax, I bet isn't worth mentioning, let alone keep a race of people. Rich people pay the taxes that keep the poor alive.

When any race gets no respect and are marginalised, treated like dirt, they are going to grow up with anger. Look at you.....full of anger. You are so like the people to condemn, and you can't even see it.

Why pick on one race? Tell me, how does it feel to be marginalied and picked on? Are you finding it a pleasant experience? No? Feel it, and think of them, instead of spouting hatred. You might learn something.

Then spare a thought for those who have felt this way for generations, with no end in sight, as long as people like you exist.wine

RE: Views by many times everyday but...

I mean this as advice, not criticism, but you need to change your profile a bit. A main pic of you smiling would be more welcoming. Even a close-up of your face might be nice, added to the others.

Also you have set out certain criteria for the men you want. It is too narrow. Take off the restrictions in the men you want, except maybe for age. Most men who view your profile will fail on at least one of the things you want him to be, so none mail you as it is right now.

Open up your options a bit and see what happens.wine

RE: A Formal Apology!!!

Agreed countries are made up of people, some good, some with extremist views. Still no reason for someone to tell her to leave the country, when, changing the company she keeps, might work.

Do you act on every thought you have?wine

RE: Need an expert in child care"s advice.

Just wondering if your hulk manifestations have anything to do with why your kids don't trust you enough to like you best........

You said a few days back........" Many times when i am depressed i become a super hero of HULK fuel by rage i get my way with what ever my problem is and i stay in it for a day or two and then my children call to me for their needs and i have to come back to reallity. while i am HULK or that SHERIF who flies around and just know where the crime is happening, i am calm and smiling but then my children can't bathe in the glory of any of it. "

So just wondering if your depression or rages might have anything to do with it? dunno

RE: A Formal Apology!!!

She didn't say that she didn't like the country, just the people with extremist political views in it.doh

RE: What is Reality??

Interesting article.wine

RE: What is Reality??

"The stuff of which the world of our experience is composed is, in my belief, neither mind nor matter, but something more primitive than either. Both mind and matter seem to be composite, and the stuff of which they are compounded lies in a sense between the two, in a sense above them both, like a common ancestor."
(Bertrand Russell).

RE: What is Reality??

I know people who do that. And I know people who have had projections of dead or dying people arrive before them.hug

A concept of a single reality can't account for that.bouquet

RE: What is Reality??

Speaking of here and somewhere else at the same time.......

How can people who believe in what they percieve being real, account for people who time/space travel to heal, or appear to others just before or after what is percieved as death?

Even that concept is not a reality for some.hug
