RE: dating

It's more of a social networking site than anything else. The site name is a bit of a misnomer.

RE: Calling all non-forum posting members!!

Ego in reverse.
Seatbelt on.
Enjoy the 'ride'.

RE: dating

I'd say that's a high estimate.

RE: Rose of Tralee..

My money is on one of the girls!

RE: confused

Hold on there Mister.

I looked at your profile in the very early stages of this thread. It can't have been up more than a few minutes at the time. At that stage of the proceedings it read "Not Single - Not Looking". I just passed it off as something lost in translation at the time, but now you're trying to tell the rest of the folks here that you've just changed it?

RE: the early bird catches the worm....

Nothing.

Consider this: The second mouse gets the cheese.

RE: confused

Get a map, pick a spot, get a visa, move.

RE: confused

You're not going to know if she's your 'soulmate' unless you spend a lot of time with her first. That means speaking with her, being seen with her, going out in public with her, spending private time (one-on-one) and sharing experiences with her. That's not something you can do through the medium of the Internet.

RE: Who would you rather date from the following options?

Depression is an illness. It is a normal reaction to certain life events. It can be disabling, but it is not a disability.

RE: confused

Me too.

Frankly, I'm gobsmacked!

RE: confused

uh oh

Can't you move to someplace else?

RE: confused

Why is it you cannot even talk to a woman?

How otherwise are you going to know if you two get along?

Can you not choose your own path rather than have another choose it for you?

RE: confused

That was 3 years ago wow

Are you in hiding that you don't even see or meet women? Are men not allowed to go outside and even look around to see if there are women out too?

RE: Do you believe in God ???

And who wrote these pieces? Man, not god. Men who had grand ambitions to brainwash the populace.

Mission accomplished (mostly)!

RE: Do you believe in God ???

"It has served us well, this myth of Christ" ~ Pope Leo X (16th Century)

No, I don't believe. And, I didn't need that little ditty to decide either. "Christ", "God" etc. are merely characters in a story book. One little fib that got way out of hand.

RE: WHAT IS YOUR IDEA OF THE PERFECT NIGHT

One where I don't have to get up to pee in the middle of the night.

Failing that, having someone special (that doesn't snore) to spend it with.

RE: Book vs Movies

I read "Rita Hayworth and the Shawshank Redemption" to give the novella it's full name.

Too many little differences to list but they are equally good. Hollywood paid well for the screen writers for the movie and it paid off.

I've not read Forrest Gump.

RE: 50 Shades of Grey

Chewing gum for the mind.

My guess is that the age and experience of the reader would dictate how it is received. Readers without the benefit of age or experience may have found it raunchy or an education, while those of us who have been around a bit longer might find it more of a memory jogging exercise. Cereal boxes have more enlightened reading.

I read book one while on hols and found it repetitive, and content wise it didn't impress. I'd seen status updates on FB claiming it to be the most 'un-put-downable' book ever. I'd be in no rush to read the second.

RE: Is it better to be good person or to deceive people?

Always best to be 'good' or at least truthful. The truth is the easiest story to remember.

RE: Book vs Movies

I always prefer the book version. The movie rarely lives up to the written.

Angels and Demons is a prime example, completely leaving out a central character. Ditto Silence of the Lambs and any 'Bond' movies.

RE: Xmas

Something like a DJ deck? The real thing? They're far from cheap.

Try Buy&Sell, eBay, donedeal, adverts.ie.... and the like.

Good luck good luck

RE: Pieta House Facts?

Might as well get that in there early before the men start q-ing to post it.

RE: golf

wink

RE: golf

The first 18 holes wasn't the problem. The 19th did the damage.

RE: golf

That he did. Mostly the non-feathered, not one under par, kind.laugh

RE: golf

Don't mine me. My ex is a Pro. so I have a rather skewed view of the game itself and how time consuming and selfish it is.

RE: Men restricting the age of women they are seeking

Personal choice. It's what they're attracted to.

I have mine limited to a range of about 10 yrs (+/- 10yrs), that's my personal choice, and what I find attractive too.

I don't want someone too young, they haven't lived the experiences and we'd have very little, if nothing, in common. Also I have two sons, I don't need a third.

Too old and we're getting into 'daddy' territory.

RE: Die tonight

"With you" as in dead too, or "with you" as in bring them along and they'll be a witness to your demise?

Odd question either way. confused

RE: golf

Golf is a game for auld fellas....
