If I sent out 20 emails, got 20 replies, but only one of them was actually interested, how am I to know that that one is what it actually is..... interest?
Personally I'd prefer to hear just from the oneout of the 20 who may have an interest than get 19 other emails just because they're being polite.
In my book, a non-response is a reply in itself... it's plainly saying "I'm not interested" without all the palaver of emailing back and forth.
Bitter people rarely apologise. They prefer to see themselves as better than, or smarter than, the rest of mankind. In his case it's a "better than womankind" dream state.
You may call it 'opting out', when it's really that the women have said "no" to the proposals and he's doing an UNO and twisting the story so as when he's out with the lads he wont get too much of a razzing.
