Looking at male AND female profiles, some prefer a younger age range and some an older, everyone's taste is different and should be accepted.

My situation is a little different, but there is one constant: Unlike serendipity, belonging to CS has one great big huge advantage: We get to custom-order. Now, I know there are some who think that's a shallow way to think, and in actual one on one circumstances, it may be. However, if someone wants a partner between the ages of, let's say, 31 and 42, then that's what they want. (I have some definite qualities I'm looking for, age is just one of those, and some definite qualities AND types I won't accept at all. I see nothing wrong with a member stating exactly what he or she is looking for. In fact, I'd have much more confidence in someone who knows what they want, then someone who goes about it haphazardly. Personal choice. It's what they're attracted to.
I have mine limited to a range of about 10 yrs (+/- 10yrs), that's my personal choice, and what I find attractive too.
I don't want someone too young, they haven't lived the experiences and we'd have very little, if nothing, in common. Also I have two sons, I don't need a third.
Too old and we're getting into 'daddy' territory.

I am surprised by the original post - I just presumed most would have an age range around their age. 70Libra's suggestion of 10+/- would of be the most common, I would have thought.

From the many womens' profiles I've perused, I can tell that many women want a narrow range of guy ages, too. For me, I'm just attracted to younger women (younger than me). Nothing wrong with older women at all, just my preference. I know a 68 year old who is absolutely gorgeous, and she looks 20 years younger than she is.
Who knows? Maybe I'll meet an older woman who knocks my socks off. Life is kind of funny that way.
