Oh and that theory was pure statistics. I know it's difficult to admit that we've been given a hard time by the locals, but...I haven't in particular. I'm too Protestant for Portugal.
I'm sure you feel Spanish because your household was Spanish. If one of your parents was of one of the countries you emmigrated to, you'd probably feel more afinity to that country. You've emmigrated in a crucial time in Spain. When we emmigrate in pain, it's hard to detach, even more when the recipient country tends to remind us that we are foreigners. Sorry to theorize. Just say I'm wrong and I'll go to sleep. It's 23 o'clock.
Yes, freedom needs to be celebrated. But you are not inferring that only when the Moors left, Renaissence was able to be inhaled? After 7 centuries, you don't want to believe that "conversion" happened immediately, do you? The ones that ambraced Renaissence were Moors by blood. Yet, they could adjust to what was happening before their eyes.
Solitare, it's 22 o'clock. Could you please lower the level? Anyway, I don't think I will be able to refute the idea of democracy not being able to sustain multiculturalism within your context. But democracy today, in my opinion, doesn't have to do with economics, at least not with its prosperity. Take China and other rich and peaceful countries that don't practise democracy or at least not in its original form. Democracy is used to have economics dug in. Economics beg for social classe. Social classes need visual differences to survive and history has determined who is who. But the world is changing now, that brings panic with it. Dominance is being lost. Not that it is being detrimental, just that power is being levelled. The weary lies on threat of losing control. That originates demise of other cultures.
Religion lost influence in modern societies. If there are any bestseller books aiming at religion, they aim at skepticism on its origins. So...
Diversity but seperated, you think? How can you exchange experiences from a distance? Why do we need to look at each other thinking the other is an ET? The idea of working together is the best way, respecting our diversity...which contributes to evolution since only with different perspectives we can know where we stand.
Legal adviser from both Rome and Mecca. to advise who?
Ok, it is said that some Middle-Eastern countries have gotten worse in terms of civil rights in the last decades. In Egypt, for example, decades ago, you had to count the number of women walking covered and today, the other way around is true. If this is dictated by religion, it is clear that stringent interpretations took place. Yes, the Spanish are all half Islamics (lol) and they assimilated pretty well, after 7 centuries of muslimhood. It is indeed possible to harmonise but the recipe seems to live long, especially in economical crisis: devide to conquer. I had to rethink on why the hell did the oiled countries at the same time rebelled...especially when the crisis did not hit them that much (not that I understand the crisis).
Democracy by definition encourages the demise of another culture? Democracy means multipartidarism. What does that have to do with demising other cultures. The demise of cultures is purely economic. That's how it all started, right?
RE: If U had a chance
I mean, look at me...I'm glad I'm living in the present time.
