Lookin' In The Mirror

A lady pauses briefly
As her eyes fill up with tears
She thinks she's lost her beauty
To the hardships and the years

Rememberin' all the good times
When she was just a girl
She kept her cowboy smiling
With her laughing eyes and curls

Her face now shows wrinkles
Her hair is turnin' gray
She's wondering where that young girl went
She was here just yesterday

Then her cowboy steps beside her
Puts his arms around her waist
Turns her ever gently
Brushes the teardrops from her face

There's somethin' I must tell you
As I've held you through the years
Let me tell you what I see
For I'll be your mirror

I can see the blue skies
Where other skies are gray
And I see children laughing
In the meadows where they play

I can see the horses grazing
Just below the rise
And I can see a rainbow
From the twinkle in your eyes

I can see the sweet grass
Swayin' gently in the breeze
I can see the sunrise
In the golden aspen trees

I can see your heartbeat
Where the eagles cast their spell
And I can see your sweet tears
Deeper than any well.

So when you stop to ponder
On reflections you hold dear
Just remember darlin',
I'll be your mirror.

Promise Of Christmas

You made outdoors Thy temple, Lord, to fit our simple prayer
So Christmas time may touch the hearts of all men everywhere
With thine own brand of mercy, human kindness and the best
Of good old freedom feelings that we hold here in the West.

Please don't let any hearts feel hopeless, Lord, no matter who they are
Please help them look up for comforts to the promise of the star
I ask no special favors, Lord, except to hope you'll bless
The friends, kith and kin, whom we hold dear, with Christmas happiness.

What Is A Successful Woman?

It's a woman who has an appreciation
Of the world around her
And of her unique place in it...
If she has energy to devote both to work
And to play....

If she has the capacity to give of herself
And to accept graciously
The gifts of others....
If she has people
She trusts and is trusted by,
People she cares about
Who care about her..
If she has a zest for life
And a feeling of kinship with all living things..
If she has the enthusiasm
To welcome each new day
With warmth
And joy
And love...
Then she is truly a successful woman.

Japanese Haiku

My tangled hair

I shall not cut;

Your hand, my dearest,

Touched it as a pillow.

Walk With The Dreamers

Walk with the dreamers,
The Believers,
The Courageous,
The Cheerful,
The Planners,
The Doers,

The Successful People
With their heads in the clouds
And their feet on the ground.
Let their spirit ignite a fire
Within you to leave this world
Better than when you found it.
