openfire: i was never on the island,is there a hotel on the island or should i bring a tent.
The people living there are very strange !
Bring a tent but also a bullet proof vest and lots of sun screen.
Mobile phones don't work out there for some reason but you can borrow my flair gun if you like. The hardest thing to get used to is the language. It's sorta a mixture of english, irish and chinese. Could have something to do with the 17 chinese resteraunts on the island.
To answer your question, YES there is a hotel but it makes Faulty Towers look like a playschool !

I just read on the internet that Sherkin Island was once part of the Canaries. Irish fishing boats dragged it home with them thinking the weather would be always sunnny. It has been there ever since. It was once owned by France but the locals beat them out with legs of chicken from KFC. There is only 1 KFC on the island but only the natives know where it is.
I know lots of people who went out there but never came back so be careful !!!
