Should i feel guilty!...

By the end of April...if all goes to plan...i'm off to my piece of paradise...
Its been a dream for a looong time now...and just want my adventure to begin!...

My kids have to up their game...stand on their own two feet...start smelling the roses...rolling on the floor laughing ...

My dog is coming..which is gonna make me public enemy number 1...uh oh ....

My guilt lies with the fact that i am leaving my Mum...
She is 91....fit enough to cook and care for herself...but needs me to shop, and whatever else is needed....
The children will now have to muck in...take over this duty...

I just feel....i've done what i could for many years...and i want to 'do this'...smitten ..

Identical Twins Meet for the first time at age 33

I'll start by telling you that I was adopted shortly after birth. In 2005 I was found by my birth family and reunited with 5 sisters and 2 brothers.

That being said this is not what this blog is about. This is about 2 other sisters reuniting for the first time since birth, and what makes this reunion so special is they are identical twins.

From the Today Show : "Separated at birth 33 years ago, identical twin sisters Amanda Dunford and Katey Bennett recently learned of each other’s existence through a genetic testing service. Live on Megyn Kelly TODAY, they meet face to face for the first time. Amanda tells Megyn that when she and Katey first spoke via FaceTime, “I felt like I was talking to myself the whole time … it was very surreal.”"

Teenage daughters....gotta love 'em...

No shortage of love about, for sure. But the song, "You always hurt the one you love" seems prophetic for many dads. Picked up the two at university for Easter break, and Goddess forbid, asked if it was OK to briefly stop at the MC shoppe to get a part for the vintage touring Wing. Eyes, all 4, screwed up to the ceiling, clutching i Phones. "We just want to get home to the critters, Popsi, dearest". So, ever a glutten for pain, I ask if they"d like to come in with me to see the shiny new road machines. "C'mon Dad, and have to be around all those grubby googling fat old bikers?" Third voodoo doll pin....to the heart. "Well, you are both so nice and beautidul, a father, especially if he's proud and a bit of a show off, likes to be seen with you". Giggles all the way home. Am I missing something? Aa.

Women, and their mom's.....

For that matter, other women in their close family. Pretty well known that personal patterns, good and bad, tend to repeat themselves. Education, success in business, marrying well, grounded offspring. Many more. Sadly, the other sides of things seem true. Teen pregnancy, choice of abusive partners, addictions, life on th dole. And of course, another side is true for men, but perhaps with less supporting data. If you want to get a fair, but off course never certain, idea, of what type of partner someone will be years down the line, look no further than paerents and family. Thee exceptions are interesting. I've lost my mind (again)

On my way home from looking for work
in the city today, I stopped on the side of
the road for some reason.

I heard a small whimpering sound coming
from the tall grass. I looked. I found two
very young puppies. One was dead. The
other managed to climb into my shirt and
came home with me on the motorcycle.

It's eyes are just open and still blue. It was
able to lap up some milk, so I think it's about
3 weeks or so old. Now it's having a nap.

My old dog is not impressed. He's so used
to having me and the castle all to himself.

I'm TOO OLD to be a mother again. I need
a volunteer to come and look after us all.

Any takers?

Twin Girls' first home....

from university summer jobs start soon. First real jobs. Check out at our food cooperative. Pretty cushy gigs, if one can find them. I began work for pay to help family budget at around age ten, Saturdays, in season, veggie picking on local Azorean Portuguese farmers' truck farms, 35 cents US for a ful basket of greeen beans, but it migh tave been 50. All the stale bubble wrapped pastries on the truck we could eat, to and from the job. Free expired date food for the pigs. And a paper route soon there after. Are times diffrent for our kids, at least in paradise countries? Memoir fodder, all. Aa.

The Silence is Deafening

My "pet" passed away last night. I know some will say it's stupid or silly. But my heart is very broken very very sad. Our pets are and become family members. My cockatiel, I received as a birthday gift. I chose his egg and after he hatched I had to wait till he was 3 weeks old to take him home. He was almost bald,so ugly he was beautiful. I had to make his formula and hand feed him. Had to keep him warm and handle him to be would be tame. Even had to have a sitter when I went to work,he had to be fed every 2 hours. When he was old enough he went everywhere in the house with me. He helped cook, clean, and such. He learned how to whistle songs, and talk.
We were together 24 years. To him I was his mother. I don't think he realized he was a bird. Our pets love us unconditionally. My birdie had been with me through more than most partners would tolerate. Never judged me and always loved me for me.
Today it's almost unbearable. The silence. Every morning he would get up with me for coffee. Ide be in the kitchen and I could turn around and there he was. Ide pick him up and put him on my head or shoulder. But not this morning. No Doodles. The hardest part is yet to come. I have to gather all his things ,dishes toys cage and such. I'll find his things for a few days little reminders of my best friend who is gone now. I can hardly believe it. Going to miss his company and his beautiful presence for the rest of my days.
I loved him very much I will be lost and something has gone from me and will never be replaced. :'( :'(
