Remembering those bloggers who are no longer with us...

I'll scroll through some old emails or check photos in my phone and come across someone who passed on. While I'm not close to any CS members, I do remember those bloggers who were an active part of the CS community and are no longer with us.

Nearly a year ago, Willy passed away.
A few years now that wenever left us.
Bearwoman is gone too...

Thinkin' of ya!

Changes in levels of civility.....

....corresponding to those in a sense of responsibility. Just was at the ex's, checking her vintage vehicle for an upcoming 600 mile trip to visit her family. We are both the oldest of many siblings, and with time parents are leaving us, so we were named estate executors/principal trustees. Sort of an old school decision on parents' part.
So very old school, that in both families, through hard work, they were able to acquire some rental property, to help with retirement, and to pass on to the kids. Some might say white privilege, as well, until they take a look at the realities of large working class families. Neither of us, both health care professionals, who have been in the roughest clinical trenches, the military and so on, could have done the same. Digressing once more.
Even without the family curse of the drink, there tends to be a fair amount of dysfunction in some such nuclear families. And in our honored administrative tasks, we're seeing our share.
Years ago, when many deals were sealed with a handshake, and renters were often friends, and even family, a damage deposit, first and last prepaid month's rent, and a lease, were often the exception in such circumstances. To make this short, in spite of free or low rent, every thoughtless act as tenants seems to come up. Arrears on rent, lots of damage, unannounced midnight moves and leaving things still there, drug sales in the apartment, police visits for same, and much more.
I know more modern and woke landlords are evolving with the sad changes in the times. But all the shenanigans bring anxiety and tears to the 93 YO one remaining great granny parent, Yet no one seems to want to change old ways.
Fairness in helping out is appropriate. But being mindful of the need to let go a little, and to realize our limits, sometimes have their places.

I Love You - Oooops

I spent a few days including Valentine's Day with my Mom. She took a fall that sent her to the hospital for a few days over a week ago. My daughter had been staying with her but wanted to see her boyfriend for the weekend so I went a stayed. I had a great time. Mom looks like a mummy all bandaged up but she is getting around. She didn't trip this fall, she fainted due to her blood pressure medicine never getting lowered to agree with the weight loss since Dad's illness then the panademic. She is certainly getting better everyday insisting on bringing Dad home. I'm just taking it a day at a time and I"M FINE.

We spent a lot of time going down memory lane, there was lots of laughter. Her phone is crazy nuts riinging with people checking on her.

Anyways back to the point of the title. In my family we kiss hello, we kiss goodbye, we say I love you with every goodbye especially on the phone, all phone calls end with I Love You, even before I go to bed in Mom or Son's house we kiss goodnight and say I Love you. I'm sure many families are that way, if not then I'm sorry.

Twice now I've said I Love you when I didn't mean to say it. Once to my boss who called to scold me and at the end of the call I said I Love you or maybe it was an email - either way the boss said right back "I love you" I was red with embarrasment, still it was funny.

We have a grocery delivery service here called InstaCart. I order groceries a lot and did so from Mom's. Rarely is there a mistake but this last time there was. I called to get credit (customer service is great), once I got the credit and was ready to hang up I said, "I Love You" BLUSH to a deep 50 shades of red!
I apologize then explained my accident and the rep laughed and said "I Love you too"

I just love being a crazy old lady that can laugh at myself. Life is good and

I do love you.

While the right is watching Hunter...

While the right is watching Hunter, it appears they turned a bling eye to Jared. I said it a while ago, he's soon to be next in investigations. Chris Christie has said it publicly Jared and Ivanka earned millions while in the White House.
Jared popped up again in the news and the reader comments get the trophy.

Pet Girl said:
"Aren't there legalities to Jared accepting this money while representing the United States during Donald's term? Isn't this what Republicans are trying to indict Hunter for taking foreign money while his dad was VP? The difference is that Hunter was a private citizen and not employed by the government while Jared was a top adviser using his office for clout. Just like Ivanka getting 14 patents while being a top adviser."

Rommel said:
"Where is the Republican inquire into this? Why the Hypocrisy, unlike Hunter BIde, Jared was a former WH employee of the Trump Administration. Where is the outrage?"

bryon said:
"The House will get right on an investigation after they are done investigating the temp. of Hunters bath water."

"So the Right wants to concentrate on Biden but nobody wants to talk about how a guy with zero political experience walks away a billionaire, don't get me started on his daughter!"

A mouthful of soda...

My parents were pretty forgiving to me and my brother. Sure, kids make mistakes, normal things like forgetfulness, procrastination, etc. We weren't liars and if we did something that required punishment, most of the time it wasn't severe.
Both my parents were literal... no hidden agendas. If we were asked (or told) to do something it was a good reason.
Some of my friends had parents who got angry at the slightest thing... probably because it was the only pleasure in their miserable lives. Arriving home 15 minutes after curfew would be no privileges for a month. Yeah... maybe that why so many turned to drugs... escape their parents for a while.
Anyway, I remember opening a soda bottle getting ready to pour a drink then my mother asked if I would pour some for her. "Sure mom, how much do you want?"
She asked for a mouthful.
Okay... the only way to properly gauge a mouthful was to...

64th Anniversary

Mom & Dad had their 64th anniversary yesterday. Baby sister talked the care center into letting Mom and her offsprings to come see him through the glass. Lots of signs were made saying things like WE LOVE YOU, HAPPY ANNIVERSARY, PLEASE EAT, et al.

There was double doors, we could go through one door into a little cubicle about 4X8 which we crowded into with are faces pressed up on the glass doors into the care center where they wheeled my Dad to on the other side. Every single one inside and out had masks on. The most fun was watching Mom say and use her hands to show Dad over and over how much she loved him. At one point we had a countdown and all screamed at once I LOVE YOU to Daddy.

I kind of felt we gave him a flash mob of love. For my MOM it was a joyous joyous day in the midst of this crazy virus. We know the care center has covid cases so we all are quaranteening ourselves for awhile, keeping fingers crossed to.

Why?

This is a huge pet peeve I have . It's about people who think scarring the crap out of your baby and makeing it scream and cry is some how funny? Well it's Not! Don't you realize the brain is developing and verry fragile in a baby and small child. You go around doing dumb shit to make your child cry and then wonder why they developed mental issues . I am really keeping this as clean as I can but it's so hard. I'm so full of anger and sadness because our society has fallen so far. I pray God gives me the grace to keep love in my heart for mankind. Trash me on this if you wish and I will only ask God to bless you.wave

To my finely honed clinical eyes......and ears....

...as to sniffy, creepy, real racist, multi millions corruption family, uncle lunchbox, Joe Biden.
No need to be Sir William Osler, to appreciate the new trend in changes in memory and gaffs by Jim Crow Joe Everyman, over the past few weeks. In some dementias, if one is present, there is a waxing and waning of signs and symptoms. But in this case, the slight improvements, considering how cognitively compromised he presented for months, are unlikely to represent the rare evolution of natural history of these afflictions.
He seems not as badly off, but basically, remains quite impaired.
It seems, rather, that there has been psychopharmacologic intervention. The two major classes of agents used to slow the progression of certain dementias, on occasion, can create such positive change. But again, only in a few cases, and with time limited effects.
If what we are seeing actually is one of the dementias. And not a more global neurological illness.
Also, the water is getting much hotter for reprobate son Hunter (where ever he is-a non extradition country?). And by extension, principally due to family corruption, involving the big, VERY big, bucks---his Dad..
Plenty enough there to pursue legally by Messrs. Barr and Durham, even if the FBI is sitting on much of the evidence. As often it does, in collusion with the Dems.
Collusion---now there's a concept.
